Job Overview
This position reports to Business Services Operations Administrator. The Commercial Portfolio Manager / Underwriter may assist with an independent review of loan underwriting conducted on real estate secured and non-real estate secured loans. Underwriting review will include but may not be limited to; review with preparation of an underwriting summary of loans submitted by business loan personnel, assisting the commercial lenders with the preparation of loan presentations, analysis of new and existing loans financial packages - guarantors&rsquo; s financial data, tax returns (personal and corporate), income statements, balance sheets, financial statements, trends and business plans. Position requires extensive experience the spreading of tax returns and financial statement, along with spreading or business analytic systems.
This position will also assist department management with overseeing the business loan portfolio to include but not limited to tickler reports, monthly and quarterly reporting requirements. This position will also chair the Business Services policy. This position requires a high level of analytical and organization skills, ability to communicate complex financial subject matter, a thorough understanding of Business Lending programs, policies, and procedures.

Skills and Experience<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Business Administration or related area</li><li>
Thorough knowledge of credit products, commercial lending policy, all applicable laws and regulations, credit quality standards, company and business line policies and procedures</li><li>
Minimum of 5+ years of credit analysis and/or loan review experience, preferably in the banking industry, and 8 years of related or similar lending experience.
</li><li>Anticipates Business Member needs and develops a reputation for responsiveness</li><li>
Ensures success of change implementation through business strategy improvement and effective communication strategy for the commercial portfolio</li><li>
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information and identify risk
</li><li>Good understanding of financial industry concepts, related laws, and regulations</li><li>
Ability to work on multiple transactions simultaneously and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines
</li><li>Previous credit union experience is a plus</li><li>
Excellent communication skills and avid listener, strong business writing</li><li>

</li></ul>Role Description and Essential Duties
<ul><li><div><ul><li>Responsible for the review and analysis of financial statements, preparation of loan presentation, assisting the commercial lenders with loan committee presentation for review and approval.</li><li>
Perform financial statement spreading and analysis on new and existing loan relationships.</li><li>
Evaluate creditworthiness of borrower and guarantors by evaluating cash flow and debt serviceability.</li><li>
Conduct market analysis for each loan presentation based on the industry of proposed borrower.
</li><li>Calculating financial ratios based on financial statements and data provided.</li><li>
Providing recommendations/suggestions to commercial lenders of loan structures, payment plans, and interest rates.
</li><li>Assist commercial lenders with the writing of loan presentations that are clear and concise using prudent underwriting standards.</li><li>
Ensure compliance with credit union policies and procedures and applicable regulations.</li><li>
Communicate with borrowers, guarantors, company controllers, and accountants to gather additional information and interpret financial statements</li><li>
Provides guidance and answers questions related to credit union and all other related services. Supports cross-selling efforts and solves problems.

Role Description and Essential Duties
<ul><li>Demonstrates a robust understanding of the principles and practices of effectively marketing financial products and services.
</li><li>Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality by exercising sensitivity towards the nature of issues associated with member information.</li><li>
Initiate and lead conversations to identify and assess member needs.</li><li>
Demonstrate the ability to give sound advice considering our members&rsquo; best interests and assist members with any questions and help them understand complex or intimidating topics.
</li><li>Experience in member service operations, including a comprehensive understanding of member needs, in order to exceed their financial goals.</li><li>
Expert in setting up, servicing, unlocking and troubleshooting for Online/Mobile banking issues and Personal Audio Teller.
</li><li>Establish new membership, maintenance accounts, open Checking Accounts, IRAs, Business Accounts, Certificate of Deposit, and Special Accounts (Fiduciary, Organizational, Representative Payee, Estate, Guardianship, and Revocable Living Trust).
</li><li>Accountable for proactively retaining accounts and ensuring the effective closure of all accounts as needed.
</li><li>Responsible for handling member interaction and transactions at the branch such as but not limited to large deposits, cash advances, wires, and saving bonds.</li><li>
Process incoming mail and return mail.</li><li>
Process corporate checks, on-us checks, temporary checks, line-of-credit advances, account transfers, payoffs, and all negotiable instruments.
</li><li>Fulfills member service requests and conducts thorough research to promptly resolve any discrepancies.
</li><li>Collaborates with the consumer loan department in taking application and facilitating loan closings.
</li><li>Process loan maintenance, due date changes, release of liens, vehicle shipments letters, CPI (Insurtrak), and replacing of collateral.</li><li>
Proactively cross-sell and maintenance GAP, DPW, Warranties, and Credit Life/Credit Disability.</li><li>
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to positively interact with team, management, vendors, and members; proficiency in effective verbal and written communication.</li><li>
Ability to multi-task, effectively organize, plan, and manage time while applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Knowledge of functions relating to cash and ATM operations and assist in placing travel notes, disputes, fraud cases and general account maintenance. Will issue, activate debit cards as well as assist in training member to use ATMs and ITM.</li><li>
Be able to resolve complex situations and diffuse escalated interactions. Responsible to interact with members via audio and video.
</li><li>Assists in auditing signature cards.
</li><li>Review and process required form for power-of-attorney, while also offering notary services.</li><li>
Attends required training and demonstrates a willingness to keep learning.
