Job Summary
Rapid is seeking a high-performing and forward-thinking Assistant Controller to join our leadership team and play a critical role in strengthening the financial foundation of Rapid Response Monitoring Services, Inc. This position partners closely with the Controller and executive leadership to ensure financial accuracy, operational discipline, and scalable growth in a dynamic and evolving industry.
The Assistant Controller will help lead core accounting operations, enhance internal controls, and elevate financial reporting processes to support informed decision-making across the organization. Beyond technical excellence, this role serves as a key contributor to strategic initiatives, system improvements, and continuous process refinement.

$100,000.00 - $150,000.00, based on experience

Responsibilities
Financial Reporting &amp; Month-End Close
<ul><li>Lead and coordinate month, quarter, and year-end close activities.</li>
<li>Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.</li>
<li>Prepare accurate and timely monthly management reports, key financial KPIs, and variance analyses.</li>
<li>Ensure adherence to GAAP, revenue recognition standards, and industry-specific accounting practices.</li>
</ul>
Accounting Operations &amp; Oversight
<ul><li>Oversee full cycle accounting functions: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and fixed assets.</li>
<li>Monitor cash flow, working capital, and internal reporting to support business objectives.</li>
<li>Implement and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.</li>
<li>Serve as hands-on support for payroll coordination, expense allocations, and billing oversight.</li>
</ul>
Compliance, Audit &amp; Risk
<ul><li>Drive all audit preparation and support external auditors during financial and SOC/industry audits.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with NYS regulatory requirements, industry standards, and audit recommendations.</li>
<li>Maintain and enhance financial policies, internal controls, and SOX-style controls appropriate to company size.</li>
</ul>
Systems &amp; Process Improvement
<ul><li>Lead ERP/system enhancements and ensure integration with operational systems.</li>
<li>Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve financial accuracy.</li>
<li>Maintain accounting documentation and standard operating procedures.</li>
</ul>
Leadership &amp; Team Development
<ul><li>Supervise, coach, and develop accounting team members.</li>
<li>Allocate responsibilities, conduct performance reviews, and support career growth.</li>
<li>Promote teamwork, cross-training, and professional development.</li>
</ul>
Strategic Financial Support
<ul><li>Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.</li>
<li>Partner with department team and executive leaders on financial strategies that support growth.</li>
<li>Provide business insights for pricing, margins, cost controls, capital expenditures, and strategic initiatives.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
Education &amp; Experience
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.</li>
<li>CPA strongly preferred.</li>
<li>6+ years progressive accounting experience; utility or field service industry experience a plus.</li>
<li>Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required.</li>
<li>Successfully clear drug screen and background check to meet industry and security licensing requirements</li>
</ul>
Technical Skills
<ul><li>Strong GAAP understanding and experience with month-end close.</li>
<li>Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power BI.</li>
<li>Experience with audit cycles, internal controls, and compliance.</li>
<li>Familiar with automated workflow and reporting solutions.</li>

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our facilities, employees, and visitors through proactive surveillance and incident prevention. Key responsibilities include monitoring assigned areas to identify and report suspicious or unusual activity, deterring unauthorized behavior such as vandalism and theft, and responding swiftly and appropriately to potential security threats or emergencies in alignment with established protocols. Ideal candidates will be well-versed in security procedures, possess strong observational skills, and maintain a calm, authoritative presence. This is the accounting position you have been searching for. Rapid Response Monitoring is looking for an individual to join our billing team. As a billing support specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate billing processes and maintaining customer accounts. This position requires a blend of technical skills, customer service expertise, and attention to detail. If you enjoy problem-solving and working with customers to resolve issues, this role will be a great fit for you.
Salary Range
$23.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience

Responsibilities
<ul><li>Proactively contact delinquent accounts in accordance with established collection procedures; help prevent defaults by offering options such as automatic payments or scheduled payment plans.</li>
<li>Recommend appropriate payment plan solutions to the Accounts Receivable Supervisory team for review and approval.</li>
<li>Foster strong client relationships to promote timely payments by building rapport and understanding customer payment behaviors.</li>
<li>Record and apply incoming payments to corresponding customer accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies or billing issues.</li>
<li>Perform billing and invoicing tasks as assigned, including cancellations and credits, and monthly late statements.</li>
<li>Assist with audits as directed by the Accounts Receivable Supervisory team.</li>
<li>Set up new customer accounts promptly and accurately; maintain the billing database by updating customer information, services, and rates.</li>
<li>Generate and distribute accurate invoices, statements, credits, and late charges, including itemized details, via electronic data interchange when applicable.</li>
<li>Document billing changes related to new or existing service offerings and communicate updates to team members and supervisors.</li>
<li>Respond to customer billing inquiries via phone or email, maintaining a high level of customer service through consistent, professional communication, and escalate complex issues to the Accounts Receivable Supervisory team when necessary.</li>
<li>Assist in developing and implementing new billing procedures.</li>
<li>Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and promptly report findings to the Accounts Receivable Supervisory team.</li>
<li>Able to contribute to the overall success of the company by performing all assigned duties in a professional, timely, and accurate manner.</li>
<li>Provide general administrative support to the department.</li>
