<div></div><div><div>The Product Design Engineer is responsible for creating innovative, high-quality product designs that meet customer needs and market demands. This role leads projects from concept through production, including research, feasibility analysis, prototyping, testing, and validation. The engineer works closely with cross-functional partners in Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and Supply Chain to ensure designs achieve fit, form, function, cost, and manufacturability requirements. In addition, this position supports continuous improvement initiatives and helps strengthen RD Industries&rsquo; reputation for innovation, quality, and reliability.<br>
</div><div><b>Essential Functions</b></div>
<div></div><div>Product Development &amp; Innovation</div>
<ul><li>Lead the design and development of new products and components from concept through production release.</li>
<li>Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and specifications using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.</li>
<li>Evaluate technical feasibility through calculations, simulations, prototyping, and testing.</li>
<li>Partner with Sales and Marketing to evaluate customer needs and market opportunities.</li>
<li>Ensure designs comply with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and customer requirements.</li>
</ul><div>Validation, Testing &amp; Manufacturing Support</div>
<ul><li>Develop and execute verification and validation plans, including FMEA, lifecycle, and performance testing.</li>
<li>Establish and document standard test protocols and results to ensure product robustness and reliability.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to optimize tooling, molds, and process capability.</li>
<li>Support prototype builds and pre-production activities to ensure readiness for scale-up.</li>
<li>Provide technical guidance to troubleshoot and resolve design and production challenges.</li>
</ul><div>Continuous Improvement &amp; Documentation</div>
<ul><li>Enhance existing product designs for quality, performance and cost efficiency.</li>
<li>Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and DFM/DFA principles to reduce scrap, improve manufacturability, and drive process improvements.</li>
<li>Prepare, maintain, and control technical documentation, drawings, BOMs, and testing reports.</li>
<li>Capture and safeguard intellectual property developed during design activities.</li>
<li>Contribute to RDI&rsquo;s culture of innovation by identifying opportunities for product and process advancements.</li>
</ul><div><b>Competencies</b></div>
<ul><li>Proficiency in SolidWorks (preferred), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.</li>
<li>Familiarity with PLM systems, additive manufacturing, and rapid prototyping.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of GD&amp;T, DFM/DFA, and quality system requirements.</li>
<li>Ability to balance design innovation with manufacturability, reliability, and cost.</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>
</ul><div><b>Qualifications</b></div>
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Product Design Engineering (or equivalent experience).</li>
<li>3&ndash;5 years of product design engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required.</li>
<li>Experience with plastic injection molding, medical devices, or consumer products preferred.</li>

<div></div><div>The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining injection molding processes that deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role applies advanced technical knowledge and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce cycle times, improve product quality, and maximize equipment reliability. In addition, the Process Engineer provides technical leadership, advanced troubleshooting, and training to support operations, while supervising staff and strengthening RD Industries&rsquo; manufacturing capabilities.<br>

<ul><li>Develop, document, and validate robust injection molding processes for new and existing products by utilizing scientific molding practices.</li>
<li>Optimize part weight, cycle times, mold configuration, and setup efficiency through data-driven analysis.</li>
<li>Approve process, tooling, and equipment validation settings for new product launches.</li>
<li>Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to enhance production performance and capacity.</li>
</ul><div>Quality, Troubleshooting &amp; Compliance</div>
<ul><li>Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs) for process and product quality issues.</li>
<li>Ensure molding operations comply with ISO 9001 standards, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies.</li>
<li>Manage in-process inspection, testing methods, and documentation to maintain high product reliability.</li>
<li>Support RMA/warranty investigations, provide resolutions, and ensure timely closure of quality hold items.</li>
</ul><div>Continuous Improvement &amp; Technical Leadership</div>
<ul><li>Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs) for process and product quality issues.</li>
<li>Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs to extend tool and equipment life.</li>
<li>Train and mentor production staff on molding techniques, setup processes, and advanced troubleshooting.</li>
<li>Monitor performance metrics, analyze trends, and communicate results to leadership and stakeholders.</li>
</ul><div><b>Competencies</b></div>
<ul><li>Advanced knowledge of injection molding machines, tooling, resins, and processing.</li>
<li>Strong skills in Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.</li>
<li>Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), ERP/MES systems, and Microsoft Office.</li>
<li>Skilled in root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and process validation.</li>
<li>Strong communication, organization, and leadership abilities.</li>

<li>Advanced technical training in plastics processing strongly desired.</li>
