Position Summary:

The Material Handler 1 is responsible for moving products using a forklift/pallet jack within the warehouse. This position is exposed to multiple refrigerated areas within production. 


Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Ensure compliance with and maintain all GMP/PPE/Safety, HACCP &amp; Sanitation guidelines and processes.
</li>
<li>Move products and/or pallets from one location to another using a forklift or pallet jack.
</li>
<li>Maintenance of the trash dock. Clean/sanitize the compactor and surrounding dock area. Empty trash compactors when full.
</li>
<li>Monitor trash dumpsters to ensure items/products are being disposed of properly. Bail plastic and cardboard materials to load onto the trailer.
</li>
<li>Monitor inventory of iGPS and wooden pallets and report to the Warehouse Coordinator/Supervisor.
</li>
<li>Maintain a clean working environment, this includes but is not limited to: Warehouse areas, Coolers, Docks and Trailers
</li>
<li>Ensures all areas remain cleaned and tools are returned to rightful locations
</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.
</li>
</ul>Minimum Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>GED/High School Diploma. 
</li>
<li>1-3 years of forklift experience (some positions require stand-up forklift experience). 
</li>
<li>Ability to read, write and speak English; comprehension of basic math. 
</li>
<li>Ability to multi-task and lift up to 50 lbs. 
</li>
<li>Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24 hour plant environment. 
</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to have good judgment. 
</li>
<li>Some specialized training such as warehouse clerk type roles with computer experience and / or inventory type roles / exposure.</li>
</ul>

</li>
</ul>Physical Work Environment:

 While performing the duties of this job, this position entails use of ladders and catwalks to reach production equipment, regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme cold for extended periods of time. The associate frequently works in high, precarious places. The associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
