The Role
As Head of Platform &amp; DevOps you will own the reliability, scalability, and evolution of RedCloud's global infrastructure. You'll lead a talented Platform &amp; DevOps (CloudOps) team, shaping the architecture that powers markets across multiple regions and enabling every engineering squad to ship with confidence.
This is a hands-on leadership role you'll set direction, make key architectural decisions, and be the person other engineers look to when things get hard.
What You'll Do
Platform Architecture &amp; Reliability<ul><li>Own the architecture of our global cloud infrastructure across one or more providers</li><li>Drive FinOps practices to keep costs controlled without sacrificing resilience</li><li>Ensure all infrastructure is captured as code and repeatable across every market deployment</li><li>Partner with Security to embed protection into architecture from the ground up</li><li>Manage technical debt transparently, flagging risk to senior leadership when business pressure pushes it higher</li></ul>
CI/CD &amp; Developer Enablement<ul><li>Own the CI/CD stack &mdash; making it fast, reliable, and easy for every engineer to use</li><li>Integrate automated testing and security tooling into pipelines</li><li>Champion deployment strategies (blue/green, canary) that protect production</li></ul>
Observability<ul><li>Own the observability platform so engineering knows about issues before customers do</li><li>Ensure tooling is intuitive and helps squads investigate production issues independently</li></ul>
Incident Response &amp; Support<ul><li>Lead swift resolution of P0/P1 incidents with clear communication to senior stakeholders</li><li>Ensure the team has coverage across all business days, year-round</li></ul>
People Leadership<ul><li>Hire, mentor, and grow engineers at all levels including building succession pipelines</li><li>Foster psychological safety, a no-blame culture, and genuine career development</li><li>Run a healthy team: ceremonies, feedback loops, and protecting engineers from unreasonable external pressure</li></ul>
What We're Looking For
We care more about what you can do and how you think than where you've been. That said, the role will suit someone who brings:<ul><li>Proven experience leading a Platform, DevOps, or Infrastructure function in a fast-growing tech environment</li><li>Deep hands-on knowledge of cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and IaC (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.)</li><li>Strong background in CI/CD tooling and release engineering</li><li>Experience with observability stacks (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar)</li><li>Track record of building and developing high-performing engineering teams</li><li>Ability to communicate technical risk clearly to non-technical stakeholders</li><li>Comfort operating across time zones in a distributed, global organisation</li></ul>
It would be a bonus if you also have experience with FinOps, ISO 27001/SOC 2 compliance environments, or scaling infrastructure in emerging markets but these aren't dealbreakers.
