 Overview
 
 
 
 We are looking for someone who can lead the engineering/ product development function for RedSeal Labs India. The individual in this position will report to the Director-Engineering of RedSeal and will work closely with U.S. based counterparts to drive key engineering and product initiatives
 
 
 
 Location: Pune, India(Hybrid)
 
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 In this role, you will:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Manage a multi-disciplinary team (Plugins development, Knowledge engineers, Engineering Project Management) responsible for executing RedSeal&rsquo;s product(plugins) and technology vision.
 </li>
 <li>
 Lead the efforts of a team comprised of RedSeal Labs India employees, independent contractors and outsourced consultants.
 </li>
 <li>
 Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend and knowledge network engineers working on plugins development
 </li>
 <li>
 Act as Scrum Master for the team&mdash;driving Agile ceremonies, removing blockers, improving velocity, and ensuring predictable delivery.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and cross-functional leaders to define roadmap, scope, and priorities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain high engineering standards through code reviews, design reviews, and best practices.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide technical direction and architectural guidance for complex features and platform enhancements.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure system scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
 </li>
 <li>
 Apply strong networking and security fundamentals to evaluate and guide development of features related to routers, firewalls, load balancers, and access controls.
 </li>
 <li>
 Oversee teams implementing or integrating with firewall and security-related components.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure the application aligns with industry best practices and security frameworks.
 </li>
 <li>
 Partner with QA, DevOps, Release Engineering, and Support teams to ensure smooth end-to-end delivery.
 </li>
 <li>
 Drive integration initiatives with third-party systems and services (integration experience is a strong plus).
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with Technical Support to provide timely resolution to customer issues.
 </li>
 <li>
 Build credibility throughout the organization by establishing yourself a dedicated leader and change agent.
 </li>

 Drive the recruiting strategy, maintaining the high quality of talent already on board as you grow the India product development team.
 </li>

 </ul>
 
 Required Qualifications/Skills
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in different technical roles (e.g., engineer, tech lead).
 </li>
 <li>
 3 to 5 years leading and managing teams delivering software engineering solutions/products.
 </li>
 <li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong hands-on background in Java, distributed systems, and large-scale backend applications
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong expertise in computer networking.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proven Scrum Master experience&mdash;leading Agile teams and driving continuous improvement.
 </li>
 <li>
 Solid understanding of networking concepts (routing, switching, protocols) and security fundamentals..
 </li>
 <li>
 Familiarity with firewalls, network access controls, and related security technologies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to excel in a dynamic, agile, and fast-paced environment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to balance technical depth with leadership responsibilities
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Preferred Qualifications/Skills
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Experience with system integrations, APIs, or third-party service integrations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or SDN technologies (VMware NSX, Cisco ACI)
 </li>
 <li>
 Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes).
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in a product-based or security-focused company.

 Design and implement backend features building complex network security application software, while working with product managers to turn features into scalable, reliable solutions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Work with product managers to understand the STIG/CIS requirements and writing the implementation using Java/JavaScript
 </li>
 <li>
 Design, code, and test application features building complex network security application software, while working with engineering leaders, architects, and product managers to scope work and produce estimates.
 </li>
 <li>
 Leverage technology knowledge to create technical designs while partnering with the product owner to deliver and gain QA acceptance.
 </li>
 <li>
 Work on algorithmic, distributed systems problems.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Required Qualifications/Skills
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 3-5 years of experience in Java/JavaScript development.
 </li>
 <li>
 BS in Computer Science or related field.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proven successful technical leadership experience in network security technologies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong networking infrastructure background and deep understanding of routers, firewalls, load balancers and switches.
 </li>
 <li>
 Understanding of the fundamentals of Agile methodologies, iterative development, SCRUM, UAT and continuous integration.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with Java, Java Script, Jenkins, Git, Gradle, Artifactory, Docker, Kubernetes.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to thrive in a dynamic, agile, and nimble environment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong analytical, organization, project management and time management skills.
 </li>
 <li>
 Fundamental understanding of agile methodologies &ndash; iterative development, SCRUM, UAT, continuous integration.
