As the first impression of the St. James Hotel, we are seeking Guest Service Representatives to be integral members of the team that creates distinctively different and authentic experiences for our guests. You will warmly and enthusiastically greet arriving guests and assist them with check-in/out to ensure they are comfortable and feel welcome while also providing information. You will promote hotel services and amenities to the guests. Additionally, you will answer guest calls, make reservations, accept guests' requests, and redirect to the appropriate department if needed.
Primary Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Anticipate and respond to guests in a friendly and positive manner.</li><li>
Provide the highest level of service.</li><li>
Process check-ins and check-outs, verify billing, create reservations, answer phone inquiries, and process special requests.</li><li>
Drive sales and maximize revenue by upselling rooms and amenities.</li><li>
Assist guests by having knowledge of hotel property, local attractions, and hours of operation of hotel outlets and services.</li><li>
Monitor room availability, follow restrictions, and all booking policies and procedures.</li><li>
Work as a team player in meeting guests' needs and actively contribute to the efforts of other departments when necessary.</li><li>
Follow proper selling techniques and ensure strategies are utilized to maximize room revenues.</li><li>
Be knowledgeable about hotel emergency procedures.</li></ul> 

Qualifications 
One-year certificate from college or technical school and three to six months related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends; Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; Basic Microsoft Office Suite experience.

We&rsquo;re looking for engaging team members and we are willing to train people with great attitude and professional style.
Work 20-40 hours per week during the summer over a combination of afternoons/evenings and weekends.
Extend your availability to work part-time up to 20 hours per week during May, September and October too and we&rsquo;ll do our best to accommodate your desired work schedule as long as you have availability to work evenings and weekends.
The Server works as a Front of House Team Member, providing superior hospitality in our Restaurant(s) by: Greeting guests with a smile, taking orders, and serving food, answering questions about various menu items, and beverages to Guests dining in the restaurant. Servers provide prompt and accurate service and ensure that only high quality food and beverages are served, providing a personalized service experience that ensures 100% satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs. Execute service as indicated by Standard Operating Procedures.</li><li>Demonstrate full knowledge of all food, cocktail, liquor, wine and beer products to ensure the guest receives an enhanced experience.</li><li>Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.</li><li>Enhance the property&rsquo;s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.</li><li>Assist in maintaining general cleanliness of the entire Restaurant(s).</li><li>Perform preparatory duties as assigned (e.g., polishing glassware and silverware, polishing table setting placement, stocking sections, folding napkins).</li><li>Consistently check guests&rsquo; identification and monitor guest consumption of alcoholic beverages to ensure compliance with hotel, local, state and federal regulations.</li><li>Accurately handle cash &amp; reconcile server financials at the end of the shift.</li><li>Comply with all Health Code guidelines to guarantee we are handling anything consumed by our guests safely and properly.</li><li>Coordinate activities with all departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner.</li></ul> 
Qualifications 
Three to six months related experience; or equivalent experience; Able to demonstrate good verbal, written, and communication skills with attention to detail and interpersonal relationships with guests and employees.
Qualified applicant must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; Basic computer skills; Demonstrated ability to openly communicate with people at all levels of the organization, strong written and oral communication skills; Critical thinking, problem solving, and prioritization skills.
