<div>SUMMARY
Sets up and operates one or more Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, and other machines, within machine cell.
The selected candidate will be offered a pay rate based on prior industrial experience, but not less than $23.66/hour to start. Hourly rate increases every 90 days based on performance within the training period of up to 18 months (depending on prior experience).
The shift hours of this position are 6am - 4pm Monday - Thursday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>
Sets&ndash;up and operates CNC machine and all other equipment in assigned Cell<ul><li>
Transfer commands from servers to computer numerical control (CNC) modules, using computer network links</li><li>
Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments</li><li>
Stop machines to remove finished workpieces or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences. Finished workpieces may be lifted manually or with hoists and cranes</li><li>
Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures</li><li>
Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems, as well as monitor control panel displays and compare readings to specifications to detect malfunctions</li></ul></li><li>
Fully responsible for preventive maintenance and proper usage of assigned machinery, tools, and component parts in assigned cell</li><li>
Follows Standard Work instructions and makes all programming and mechanical adjustments</li><li>
May move from assigned cell to other cells at discretion of supervisor</li><li>
Adheres to all safety and health standards</li><li>
Participates in Kaizan events and seeks to continuously improve work processes</li><li>

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance</li><li>

Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models</li><li>

Education and Experience Requirements<ul><li>
HS Diploma or GED required</li><li>
6 to 9 months on the job training or related vocational training program required</li></ul>
Physical Demand and Work Environment:
Work environment includes regular exposure to noise levels at or above 85 decibels, dust particles, light radiation, paint or oil products, and weather changes. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required to be worn during shift.
Physical requirements include lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, manual dexterity, control precision, near vision, and hearing sensitivity.<h1 class="jobSectionHeader">

CNC Operator - 1st Shift

<div>SUMMARY
Sets up and operates cell manufacturing and test equipment in order to produce final product. Inspects parts as needed for product quality. Performs standard work and uses process control methods to complete the manufacturing process. Performs routine preventative maintenance on tools and equipment. Reads and interprets all process documents, follows detailed procedures and maintains applicable records. Assists in training of new associates on standard processes within manufacturing, changeovers and inspection. Communicates cell production issues to Production Team Leader and/or other team members. Interfaces with purchasing, engineering, and customer service as needed to deliver product to meet customer expectations. Willingness to work in numerous capacities, ranging from molding, machine operating, assembly, potting, washing, painting, inspecting, and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reads and interprets diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine material requirements and/or assembly instructions. Selects, aligns, and secures tooling, accessories, and materials on machines, such as hydraulic presses, burnish/test machines, assembly fixtures, air or electric power tools and magnetizers. Enters appropriate settings and adjusts and calibrates equipment as needed for the assigned production order. Records production and operational data on specified forms or within specified data-tracking systems. Performs quality checks on products and parts. Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers and height gauges. Rotates through all the tasks required in a particular production process. Works at a variety of workstations and areas with other associates as required to meet customer needs. Explains assembly procedures or techniques to other associates. Maintains an orderly, safe, and clean workplace. Participates in cell meetings and events. May perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CREDENTIALS
High School Diploma or GED is preferred. Previous industrial assembly background is preferred, but not required, however a verifiable and solid work history is. Knowledge of gauging processes is a plus.
