Responsibilities:
<ul><li><div>
Scans and attaches all internal and external correspondence and electronic medical reports into patients&rsquo; medical record charts according to filing system.</div></li><li><div>
Pulls charts for scheduled appointments in advance according to guidelines. Ensures that all appropriate documentation for the scheduled patient visit is attached to the patient&rsquo;s chart.</div></li><li><div>
Prints, mails, and/or faxes patient chart information as requested and authorized. Documents all processes.</div></li><li><div>
Releases medical records information to persons or agencies according to state and federal regulations.</div></li><li><div>
Compiles and maintains patients&rsquo; medical records to document condition and treatment and to provide data for research, cost control, and care improvement efforts.</div></li><li><div>
Picks up out guides at designated locations and returns to Medical Records.</div></li><li><div>
Catalogues charts for storage and keeps electronic reports of those records.</div></li><li><div>
Submits requests for chart retrieval from storage if needed to comply with a medical records request.</div></li><li><div>
Monitors physician dictation and ensures completion in the EMR; alerts physicians who are behind.</div></li><li><div>
Logs and tracks new patients for scheduled meetings as required.</div></li><li><div>
Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office; provides back-up assistance as needed.</div></li><li><div>
Sends out dictations to referring providers via fax or electronic methods (including EMR direct messaging where applicable).</div></li><li><div>
Logs FMLA/Disability forms for provider completion; mails or faxes forms and contacts patients once completed.</div></li><li><div>
Sends outgoing faxes and distributes incoming faxes.</div></li><li><div>
Prepares correspondence, memos, forms, and other documents as requested by supervisor.</div></li><li><div>
Where applicable, may assist with converting files or preparing records for patient transfers between facilities.</div></li></ul>
Qualifications:
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</b></h3><ul><li><div>
High school diploma or equivalent required.</div></li><li><div>
Entry-level position requiring 0&ndash;3 years of experience, preferably in a medical office setting.</div></li><li><div>
Previous experience in medical records preferred.</div></li><li><div>
Knowledge of electronic health record systems.</div></li><li><div>
Strong time management, organization, attention to detail, and quality focus skills required.</div></li></ul></div>

Employment Type: Temporary Part-Time</p><p>
Location: Hackensack, NJ</p><p>
Compensation: $15.58 - $21.00 per hour</p><p><i>

Responsibilities and Duties:</b></p><ul><li>
After the patient signs in at the front desk the Medical Assistant greets the patient and escorts them in for office visits with the physician or nurse practitioner and lab work.</li><li>
Transports patients safely using appropriate equipment such as wheelchairs.</li><li>
Obtains patient vital signs, height and weight. Documents the information by entering it into the electronic medical record.</li><li>
Ensures that exam rooms and physician offices are stocked with medical supplies, equipment and the appropriate paperwork.</li><li>
Set-up for bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures and any other surgical and non-surgical procedures ordered for the patient.</li></ul><p><b>
Lab Specimen Collection:</b></p><ul><li>
After receiving and reviewing laboratory orders, obtain blood specimens.</li><li>
Obtain blood specimens for analysis by finger stick or venipuncture depending on the specific test ordered. Identify the patient by having the patient state their first and last name and date of birth and compare it to the RCCA ID number.</li><li>
Review all specimens for acceptability.</li><li>
Instructs patients in the proper collection of twenty-four-hour urines. Verifies that the containers contain the proper preservative and instruct the patient in refrigeration or acid precautions if appropriate.</li></ul><p><b>
Lab Quality Control:</b></p><ul><li>
Investigate all out-of-range results and document the corrective action taken.</li></ul><p><b>
Laboratory Testing:</b></p><ul><li>
After assuring satisfactory QC and instrument function, perform CBC on the Hematology Analyzer. Review all results for acceptability, critical results, or clinically significant changes. Report critical values or significant changes to the physician. Maintain documentation of all results, or of any corrective action taken.</li><li>
Process Bone Marrow biopsy specimens for transport to the appropriate reference laboratory for analysis.</li><li>
Process all specimens for outside lab testing. Refer to manual for instructions.</li><li>
Initiative &ndash; The degree to which an employee searches out new tasks and expands abilities professionally and personally.</li><li>
Interpersonal Relationships &ndash; The willingness and ability to communicate, cooperate, and work with co-workers, supervisors, and patients.</li></ul><p><b>
Record Keeping:</b></p><ul><li>
Practices OSHA safety standards.</li><li>
Maintains Universal Precautions.</li><li>
Disposes of all biohazard waste according to OSHA standards.</li><li>
Must comply with all State, Federal and Local Regulations.</li><li>

Demonstrates the ability to work well with peers while ensuring a strong cohesive team.</li><li>
Follows the chain of command appropriately when necessary.</li><li>

Requirements:

Education:</b></p><ul><li>
High school graduate or equivalent.</li><li>
Current Certification from an accredited program for Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant required.</li></ul><p><b>
