 Role Overview
 
 
 
 The Transport Controller plays a critical role in coordinating and overseeing transportation activities to ensure smooth cargo movements, compliance with client requirements, and timely issue resolution. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
 
 
 
 Key Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Prepare job details including schedules, documentation, clearing agents, loading/offloading points, and distribution lists.
 </li>
 <li>
 Issue and verify all transport-related documents (Packing List, Road Manifest, Client Invoice, etc.)
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor Estimated Time of Arrivals (ETAs) and ensure timely updates
 </li>
 <li>
 Oversee capacity allocation and execution to meet client commitments.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide accurate daily client reports in line with agreed formats.
 </li>
 <li>
 Handle client queries and exceptions, offering clear and timely feedback.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage supplier communications regarding new bookings, delays, and updates.
 </li>
 <li>
 Oversee incident management and risk events (accidents, breakdowns, unauthorized stops).
 </li>
 <li>
 Arrange escorts for high-value cargo and confirm all necessary details.
 </li>
 <li>
 Notify relevant parties and calculate demurrage charges where applicable.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate with ground teams at loading, offloading, and border points to ensure smooth operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Participate in three weekly meetings to address challenges, seek clarifications, plan ahead, and manage escalations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required to improve efficiency.
 </li>
 <li>
 Directly manage a small team of 2&ndash;4 staff, including Operations Expeditors and Purchase Expeditors.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide ongoing feedback to Key Account Managers regarding client performance and status.

 Proficiency in MS Office &amp; Excel; prior experience with ERP systems is an advantage.

 Strong leadership and team management skills.

 </ul>
 
 Qualifications &amp; Experience
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Diploma or bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred).
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum 3&ndash;5 years&rsquo; experience in transport coordination, logistics, or supply chain management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in client-facing roles and incident management is an advantage.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prior exposure to managing small teams is desirable.
 </li>
