GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Buyer/Customer Service role has the primary responsibility of end-to-end supply chain management for assigned value streams. Other responsibilities include supporting material/product level revisions, interacting/coordinating with suppliers &amp; customers on a variety of topics, and supporting other business functions as required. 
RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Serves as a point of contact for and liaison with customers, scheduling, logistics, and manufacturing departments.</li><li>
Collaborates with these departments to ensure schedules allocate available resources to best serve client or customer needs.</li><li>
Compares current and anticipated orders with available inventory of raw materials; uses judgment to anticipate demand for and to acquire or defer additional supplies as needed.</li><li>
Collaborate with outside supply vendors; ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders.</li><li>
Integrates sales orders with master schedule; coordinates availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and staff as needed to meet delivery dates.</li><li>
Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production material and maintenance items as required by forecast and the production schedule.</li><li>
Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of future potential problems.</li><li>
Determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation and material lead times.</li><li>
Assist in the preparation of the master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to customer orders.</li><li>
Attend daily production meeting. Be prepared daily to discuss status of orders, delivery and any conflicts or potential issues with orders.</li><li>
Confer with department supervisors to determine status of orders.</li><li>
Work with Customers, Sales, Engineering, Planning and Management to ensure 100% on time deliveries.</li><li>
Prepare production and shortage reports.</li><li>
Coordinate material requirements between Purchasing and Manufacturing.</li></ul>
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS<ul><li>
3 or more years of experience in a buyer/planner/material scheduler</li><li>
BS/BA in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, and Logistics preferred.</li><li>
Knowledge of forecasting, MRP, transportation, supply chain, inventory management and warehousing disciplines.</li><li>
Proficient with MS Office suite &ndash; particularly MS Excel</li></ul>
