As our Medical Director, you will be at the heart of that mission, steering clinical excellence while helping individuals reclaim their lives.We are seeking a collaborative and clinically strong Psychiatrist to serve as our Medical Director while also maintaining a limited patient caseload within our PHP/IOP/OP continuum.Position OverviewThis role combines:<ul><li>Clinical leadership and supervision</li><li>Psychiatric evaluations and medication management</li><li>Program oversight and multidisciplinary collaboration</li></ul>The ideal candidate is a thoughtful clinician who values both:<ul><li>high-quality psychiatric care, and</li><li>building a healthy clinical culture.</li></ul>This is an excellent opportunity for a psychiatrist seeking meaningful leadership involvement without a full-time administrative burden.ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership<ul><li>Serve as Medical Director for PHP, IOP, and OP services</li><li>Provide psychiatric oversight for patients with mental health and co-occurring disorders</li><li>Collaborate with clinical director, psychiatric nurse practitioner, and leadership</li><li>Guide treatment-resistant conditions through advanced interventions including ketamine-assisted treatment or long-acting injectables</li><li>Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings</li><li>Support clinical quality, safety, and compliance initiatives</li><li>Assist with development and refinement of clinical protocols and best practices</li><li>Provide consultation and guidance to clinical staff as needed</li></ul>Direct Patient Care<ul><li>Conduct psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments</li><li>Provide medication management for PHP, IOP, and OP patients</li><li>Monitor patient progress and treatment response</li><li>Support crisis assessment and clinical decision-making</li><li>Document services in accordance with payer and regulatory standards</li></ul>QualificationsRequired<ul><li>MD or DO degree</li><li>Board Certified in Psychiatry (ABPN) OR completed an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency</li><li>Active Maryland medical license (or ability to obtain)</li><li>DEA registration</li><li>Experience treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, and/or co-occurring conditions in an outpatient setting</li><li>Strong collaborative and communication skills</li></ul>Preferred<ul><li>Experience in PHP, IOP, or community behavioral health settings</li><li>Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use treatment</li><li>Interest in measurement-based care and outcomes-driven treatment</li><li>Supervisory or leadership experience</li></ul>Schedule &amp; Expectations<ul><li>Up to 20 hours per week</li><li>Flexible scheduling options available</li><li>Combination of:</li><li>direct patient care</li><li>team meetings</li><li>supervisory/medical director responsibilities</li></ul>What We Offer<ul><li>Flexible, collaborative work environment</li><li>Hybrid/telehealth options</li><li>Opportunity to shape a growing behavioral health program</li><li>Mission-driven culture focused on compassionate care</li><li>Administrative support for scheduling and operations</li><li>Competitive compensation structure</li></ul>Ideal CandidateYou are:<ul><li>clinically grounded,</li><li>calm under pressure,</li><li>collaborative with therapists and staff,</li><li>and passionate about improving access to quality behavioral healthcare.</li></ul>You value patient-centered care and believe strong treatment outcomes come from both clinical excellence and human connection.To ApplyPlease submit:<ul><li>CV/Resume</li><li>Maryland licensure status and availability</li></ul>Pay: $150.00 - $200.00 per hourApplication Question(s):<ul><li>Are you willing to do a background check?</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology ABPN certificate (Preferred)</li><li>Medical License (M.D. ) in Maryland (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Gaithersburg, MD 20877 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Gaithersburg, MD 20877
