POSITION SUMMARY</b></p><p>
The MDS Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all facets of the comprehensive resident assessment and the time completion of all areas of the MDS and PPS. Also interfaces with the Finance Department and conducts Performance Improvement activities related to the MDS process.</p>
Qualifications:
<div><b>
Requirements of the MDS Coordinator:</b></div><ul><li>
Current RN or LPN licensure required.</li><li>
Experience with LTC/SNF clinical documentation/ MDS software and therapy software systems</li><li>
Prior MDS experience in a long-term care setting required</li><li>
Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations</li><li>
Strong knowledge of Federal Medicare and state Medicaid reimbursement</li><li>
Strong knowledge/background in post-acute care regulatory compliance and reimbursement guidelines.</li><li>

Responsibilities:
<p><b>
Responsibilities of the MDS Coordinator:</b></p><ul><li>
Must be a licensed LPN or RN.</li><li>
Collecting, reviewing and data entering the clinical information related to the assigned MDS following federal and state mandated regulations/requirements and the current MDS 3.0 RAI guidelines.</li><li>
Attending Care Plan conferences as needed</li><li>
Issuing Notice of Medicare non coverage as needed</li><li>
Alternate duties as assigned by Department Head/CRC</li></ul></div>
