Overview<br>
Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Director and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in dealing with age related needs of the specific patient populations served in nursing unit. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.<br>

What you will do</div><ul><li>
Demonstrates ability to assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population. Demonstrates nursing unit specific competencies and equipment training, see checklists.</li><li>
Partners with patients and their family to develop, implement and evaluate a plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient. Incorporates evidence based standards of practice and collaborates with interdisciplinary team in care coordination. Facilitates safe patient transition to next level of care as part of plan of care.</li><li>
Demonstrates sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to ensure patient receives consistent, competent and ethical care. Focuses on quality outcomes of patient when addressing service needs to ensure evidence based quality care of patient.</li><li>
Demonstrates understanding of diverse patient care populations. Modifies education method to ensure patient/family understanding. Assumes responsibility to coordinate and deliver individualized patient education and discharge specific education to family/caregivers. Evaluates for comprehension and documents.</li><li>
Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.</li><li>
Delegates and prioritizes tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and service excellence to meet the patient's care needs. Recognizes and responds to emergency situations. Evaluates resources and support needed and uses systems to ensure needs are met.</li></ul><div><br>

Program Graduate, Nursing (Nursing Diploma is minimum education requirement, Associate's or Bachelor's in Nursing accepted in lieu of Nursing Diploma) (Required) and</li><li>
High School Diploma or GED, HS Diploma/GED only required if Nursing Diploma Graduate (Required)</li></ul><div><br>
Experience</div><ul><li>
1 year Related RN Experience (Preferred)</li></ul><div><br>
Licenses and Certifications</div><ul><li>
Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) or licensed in compact state Upon Hire (Required) and</li><li>

Registered Nurse (RN) - Full Time - Nights - Adult

Overview<br>
Works under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Managers and assumes responsibility for the smooth and effective operation of the hospital in the absence of the Administrator and/or Director of Nursing. Assists team members in the interpretation and application of facility policy. Coordinates the provision of appropriate staffing levels and resources for quality patient care. Makes rounds throughout the facility to assess facility operations and respond effectively to situations that arise. This position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served within Facility. The Nursing Supervisor may work in a variety of settings and roles within Riverside Health System. May perform in RN role by assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The Nursing Supervisor utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to oversee patient care throughout facility based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Works collaboratively with the leadership team to provide a comprehensive range of services for clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.<br>

What you will do</div><div></div><ul><li>
Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks to facilitate quality patient care and ensure all patient care needs are met. Able to recognize and respond to emergency situations.</li><li>
Recognizes and reports variances and provides resolutions. Investigates nursing errors, complaints concerning nursing care, patient/visitor accidents and counsels personnel at the time of occurrence or when error is discovered as appropriate.</li><li>
Demonstrates positive nursing leadership skills through supportive behaviors that include developing/educating staff on policies/procedures/best practices/strategic goals.</li><li>
Directs the administration and operation of the hospital efficiently, effectively and in a professional manner. Notifies administrator on-call/management team appropriately as directed by hospital procedure.</li><li>
Rounds on all units and provides assistance in planning nursing care and evaluating effectiveness of care, problem solving, interpreting nursing policies and patient room assigning.</li><li>
Demonstrates good judgment in staffing/patient care needs and makes good decisions related Communicates and documents appropriately, changes in staffing/patient care, sick callouts, etc.</li><li>
Accurately completes required documentation consistent with RHS standards.</li></ul><div><br>
