<div>RK&amp;K is hiring a Senior Project Engineer in our award-winning highways department to join our team in Washington DC, or surrounding areas. As a Senior Project Engineer you will lead and support of our multiple ongoing programs with DDOT, VDOT, USDOT and various local agencies and municipalities. Essential Functions
<ul>
<li>Perform a wide variety of engineering tasks including concept designs, traffic control designs, roadway &amp; highway designs, streetscapes, complete streets, profiles, geometric layouts, cross sections, intersections, interchanges, bicycle/pedestrian facilities, contract plans, cost estimates and specifications
</li><li>Perform engineering planning tasks including preparation of conceptual road plans and alternatives analysis for new transportation systems or retrofits to existing systems, design alteration and modification of existing transportation systems to improve safety or function, prepare alternatives analyses reports for concept roadway improvements
</li><li>Apply DDOT, VDOT and AASHTO design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards, and processes
</li><li>Lead design projects to ensure deliverables are completed within budget and on schedule
</li><li>Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, government agencies, and project staff
</li><li>Work in a collaborative environment with a diverse multi-disciplined project team
</li></ul>Required Skills and Experience
<ul>
<li>Eight (8) years of experience in civil engineering design and/or transportation/highway engineering
</li><li>BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
</li><li>Proficiency in MicroStation V8i, GEOPAK, OpenRoads, InRoads, and/or AutoCAD Civil3D
</li><li>Professional Engineering Registration (PE)</li>
</ul>
Preferred Skills and Experience
<ul><li>In-depth understanding of Highway Design Standards, MUTCD, DDOT, VDOT, AASHTO and other highway design manuals and guidelines
</li><li>Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
</li><li>Capable of leading transportation design projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment
</li><li>Strong written and oral communication skills

Senior Project Engineer, Highways

<div>The Right of Way Project Coordinator will support real estate activities including acquisition coordination, document preparation, and stakeholder communication for utility, transportation, and infrastructure projects. As a Right of Way Project Coordinator, you will interface with the project team and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.

Essential Functions
<ul>
<li>Provide real estate support for acquisitions and other real estate activities</li>
<li>Coordinate with Right of Way Specialists and Admins to ensure timely document preparation and tracking</li>
<li>Assist in negotiating acquisitions/divestitures under supervision</li>
<li>Prepare and review Deeds, Easements, Options, and Agreements</li>
<li>Support property settlements and maintain accurate records</li>
<li>Attend project meetings and assist in preparing updates and minutes</li>
<li>Assist in preparing Comparable Market Analysis reports and just compensation letters</li>
<li>Assist in reviewing title commitments and research county land records</li>
<li>Maintain project databases and shared drives for lease/license agreements</li>
<li>Support activities directed by Project Manager</li>
<li>Support permit applications and coordination with local agencies</li>
</ul>
Required Skills and Experience
<ul>
<li>1&ndash;3 years of experience in real estate or right-of-way coordination</li>
<li>Associate's degree or equivalent experience</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint</li>
<li>Ability to interpret and organize information from multiple sources</li>
<li>Strong communication and organizational skills</li>
<li>Familiarity with land acquisition processes and documentation</li>
<li>Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders</li>
<li>Notary or ability to obtain one as required</li>
</ul>
Preferred Experience and Education
<ul>
<li>Experience in land acquisition or real estate support</li>
<li>Experience supporting Department of Transportation, Utility, and infrastructure projects</li>
<li>Exposure to the Uniform Relocation and Real Property Act</li>
<li>IRWA coursework or certifications desirable</li>
