<div>RK&amp;K is seeking a qualified Construction Inspector I to enhance our Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) operations for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and municipal transportation projects. This role is essential for leading field inspections, conducting materials testing, and ensuring thorough documentation to guarantee quality and successful project delivery.

Essential Functions
<ul>
<li>Promote an ethical work environment.</li>
<li>Foster effective communication with personnel, clients, contractors, and the public.</li>
<li>Support all aspects of contract administration from preconstruction to project close-out.</li>
<li>Perform quality assurance inspections under the guidance of senior personnel.</li>
<li>Provide documentation to ensure materials compliance.</li>
<li>Prepare daily reports on contractor progress and address on-site issues.</li>
<li>Attend project-related meetings as directed.</li>
<li>Supervise less experienced inspection team members as needed.</li>
<li>Report daily to project sites or RK&amp;K office as required.</li>
<li>Provide accurate documentation to support monthly and final pay estimates.</li>
</ul>
Preferred Skills and Experience
<ul>
<li>0 to 5 years of experience in heavy civil infrastructure construction inspection.</li>
<li>Certifications in OSHA, ACI, HMA Level 1B, and other applicable TxDOT training.</li>
<li>Understanding of the project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout.</li>
<li>Experience with roadways, bridges, structures, traffic control, and environmental compliance.</li>
<li>Knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction.</li>
<li>Familiarity with TxDOT's Quality Assurance Program.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AASHTOWare, and ProjectWise.</li>
<li>Acceptable driving record and ability to pass a Criminal History Background Check.</li>

Construction Inspector I

<div>RK&amp;K is seeking a Construction Engineer to join our Construction Engineering and Construction Management (CM) team in Wilmington, DE. As a Construction Engineer on RK&amp;K's team, you will manage construction projects for our clients while reporting directly to the Project Manager in charge. Our primary clients are City of Wilmington DPW, Cecil County DPW, Philadelphia Water Department, and New Castle County DPW.

Essential Functions
<ul>
<li>Manage assigned elements of projects as an owner's representative to ensure contract compliance</li>
<li>Travel and report to project sites as needed</li>
<li>Serve as a communication liaison between field staff, contractors, design team, federal and state agencies, and citizens</li>
<li>Review and understand the project plans, contract documents, specifications and standards</li>
<li>Provide technical guidance to the client and ensure the final product is quality work</li>
<li>Provide thorough constructability reviews for projects at 30%, 60%, and 90% design</li>
<li>Update and track financial information including cost projections for projects. Make recommendations related to partial and final contractor payments. Prepare and conduct entitlement determinations, independent cost estimates, time impact recommendations and documentation related to project change orders</li>
<li>Track project schedule and make recommendations</li>
<li>Conduct project meetings to include preconstruction meetings, utility coordination meetings, progress meetings and pre-activity meetings. Draft thorough meeting minutes for distribution.</li>
<li>Prepare project management correspondence and reviews recommendations made by project staff.</li>
<li>Manage the Project Close-out process, including as-builts, final quantities and final acceptance</li>
<li>Focus attention on the success of key project elements: Safety &amp; Environmental, Quality, Schedule and Cost</li>
<li>Interact and build relationships
</li></ul>Required Skills and Experience
<ul><li>High School diploma or equivalent</li>
<li>3 years of experience managing heavy civil infrastructure construction, providing construction inspection or construction management experience.</li>
<li>PennDOT experience (preferred) or Federal, municipal, or other DOT experience
</li><li>Construction management experience in water/wastewater, roadway, utilities, and structures</li>
<li>Ability to read &amp; interpret roadway plans &amp; specifications</li>
<li>Understanding of contractor means &amp; methods and materials</li>
<li>Understanding of QA/QC development and execution process</li>
<li>Understanding RFI and Submittal Processes as well as experience running project meetings and developing meeting minutes</li>
<li>Familiarity with interpreting contract specifications, standards, etc</li>
<li>Functional computer usage including familiarity with ECMS and Microsoft Office suite software.</li>
<li>Acceptable driving record</li>
<li>Knowledge and understanding of project controls (CPM scheduling, cost estimating, claim analysis)</li>
</ul>
Preferred Skills and Experience
<ul><li>B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field</li>
<li>7 years of experience managing heavy civil infrastructure construction, providing construction inspection or construction management experience.</li>
<li>Construction Manager-in-Training (CMIT) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)</li>
<li>Primavera P6</li>
<li>NICET Level 3 or higher in Transportation / Highway Construction</li>
<li>E.I.T. or P.E. license</li>
<li>Contractor, Inspection, or Management experience
