 Description
 
 
 
 As Dispatch I, you are responsible for scheduling trips for freight deliveries, including scheduling drivers and routes. The role is a central contact point for both truck drivers and customers, coordinating the shipping process. In this fast-paced position, Dispatchers are responsible for multiple trucks, customers, drivers and routes, which requires attention to detail. They also monitor trucks and drivers once they are on route, and they help if an issue arises with a pickup or delivery.
 
 
 
 Requirements
 
 
 
 
 Responsibilities and Duties:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Communicates any schedule delays/changes with drivers and customers
 </li>
 <li>
 Driver/Dispatch team's timesheet approvals and corrections on a weekly basis
 </li>
 <li>
 Liaison and support for all drivers and transportation management team
 </li>
 <li>
 Driver ELD Compliance of CA Fleet
 </li>
 <li>
 Driver DOT Compliance of CA Fleet
 </li>
 <li>
 Driver ELD Compliance of CA Fleet C
 </li>
 <li>
 Fleet equipment maintenance and compliance
 </li>
 <li>
 Updating and upkeeping fleet insurance and state licensing requirements
 </li>
 <li>
 Complete and follow-up on transportation special projects
 </li>
 <li>
 Streamline and update routes as needed for route optimization
 </li>
 <li>
 Dispatch operational support as needed
 </li>
 <li>
 Answers any customer inquiries and transportation requests, communicates necessary information to drivers
 </li>
 <li>
 Resolve customer concerns with professional and timely etiquette
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures that safety requirements are followed by drivers at all times
 </li>
 <li>
 Advanced knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
 </li>
 <li>
 Route planning for optimal driver and vehicle utilization
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintains clear and accurate records and logs
 </li>
 <li>
 Evaluates and adjusts routes based on daily needs, available workers, traffic hazards and weather conditions

 Process all daily/weekly bonds

 Maintain route schedules

 Utilize Cargowise to create workorders/create BOLs when necessary
 </li>

 Willingness to work a flexible schedule including overtime to cover escalations if required
 </li>

 Qualifications &amp; Skills Needed
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 High school diploma or equivalent
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong math &amp; writing skills
 </li>
 <li>
 Customer and Quality focused
 </li>
 <li>
 Intermediate computer skills and SAP experience are a plus. Microsoft Office Suite is a must
 </li>
 <li>
 2-4 years of experience in the logistics field or any other related industry
 </li>
 <li>
 LEAN understanding with the ability to fully execute 5s and 7s
 </li>
 <li>
 Understanding of logistics, shipping, receiving and transportation
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent time management
 </li>
 <li>
 Great communication and soft skills
 </li>
 <li>
 High Sense of accuracy
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of inventory control
 </li>
 <li>
 Assertive; being able to meet high volume demand
 </li>
 <li>
 Able to collaborate with all parties necessary to achieve goals
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of handheld RF equipment a plus
 </li>
 <li>
 May need to use light power tools
