We are seeking a <b>Complex Claim Director</b> to oversee our Personal Umbrella Liability claims, including auto, premises, and personal liability. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven ability to manage complex claim investigations and evaluations while ensuring optimal outcomes for our clients.</p><p></p><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Principal Duties &amp; Responsibilities</b></h1><ul><li><p><b>
Claims Management:</b> Proactively handle Personal Umbrella Liability claims, emphasizing detailed investigation, evaluation, and monitoring of primary carrier activities to achieve the best results.</p></li><li><p><b>
Coverage Analysis:</b> Investigate and analyze complex coverage issues, providing clear and detailed coverage letters as necessary.</p></li><li><p><b>
Investigation &amp; Evaluation:</b> Conduct timely and comprehensive investigations into liability and damages to recognize exposures early.</p></li><li><p><b>
Claims Resolution:</b> Focus on effective resolution strategies, including timely liability investigations, damage assessments, and reserve setting.</p></li><li><p><b>

Education &amp; Experience</b></h1><ul><li><p><b>
Education</b>: Requires a<b> </b>bachelor&rsquo;s degree.</p></li><li><p><b>
Experience:</b> 8+ years of relevant legal or technical claims experience, with a strong background in handling large exposure third-party liability claims on a primary/excess basis.</p></li><li><p><b>
State Knowledge:</b> Significant experience with policy limit demands in Florida, Texas, and California.</p></li><li><p><b>
Independence:</b> Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.</p></li><li><p><b>
Collaboration:</b> Proven ability to work effectively with primary carriers and defense counsel, with in-depth knowledge of umbrella/excess handling and management of outside counsel.</p></li><li><p><b>

Principal Duties &amp; Responsibilities</b></h1><p></p><ul><li>Handle potential high-exposure, complex bodily injury claims across the United States.</li><li>Responsible for all aspects of claim-handling, including fact investigation, claim evaluation, and litigation management.</li><li>Effectively investigate and analyze complex coverage issues and write coverage letters as appropriate.</li><li>Develop and implement claim resolution strategies, including independent handling of mediations and trials in complex claims.</li><li>Select, retain, and direct appropriate defense counsel on litigated cases.</li><li>Collaboratively communicate with Underwriting on developments that may impact their respective product lines.</li><li>Handle special projects and other duties as needed.</li></ul><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Education &amp; Experience</b></h1><div><ul><li><br>
Typically requires a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field; and 8+ years of relevant legal or insurance related experience with commercial transportation claims or a Juris Doctorate with 5+ years of transportation/insurance defense experience.</li></ul></div><ul><li>Experience in handling high-exposure trucking, bus, and/or commercial auto bodily injury claims and litigation in various jurisdictions across the United States.</li></ul><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
