<div><p>We&rsquo;re looking for a <b>Senior Field Service Technician</b> with extensive field experience and leadership capability to support electrical system projects across the U.S. In this hands-on role, you&rsquo;ll lead field crews, execute testing and commissioning plans, and troubleshoot complex issues in power plants, substations, and industrial facilities. You&rsquo;ll take ownership of day-to-day site operations and play a key role in mentoring technicians while ensuring quality and safety in the field.</p>
<p><b>What You&rsquo;ll Do:</b></p>
<ul><li>Lead testing and maintenance on LV to HV systems (480V&ndash;600kV), including breakers (air, SF6, vacuum), relays, cables, motor controls, and transformers</li>
<li>Run advanced diagnostics using Power Factor, Tan Delta, VLF, DC Hi-Pot, Doble, TTR, winding resistance, insulation resistance, and contact resistance tests</li>
<li>Perform and validate electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor relay testing</li>
<li>Oversee test plan execution and commissioning procedures for new systems, retrofits, and upgrades</li>
<li>Supervise onsite field crews&mdash;delegate tasks, mentor technicians, and uphold technical and safety standards</li>
<li>Enforce compliance with project specifications, Lockout/Tagout, PPE, and job hazard analysis requirements</li>
<li>Follow strict safety and PPE usage protocols due to noise, electrical hazards, and elevated work areas</li>
<li>Maintain accurate test reports, service records, and commissioning documentation</li>
<li>Serve as the lead field contact for clients&mdash;communicate status updates and coordinate project requirements</li>
<li>Oversee the care and readiness of test gear, vehicles, and tools</li>
<li>Direct emergency response, shutdowns, and start-ups with minimal supervision</li>
<li>Coach and support junior team members through on-the-job mentorship</li>
</ul>
<p><b>The Experience We&rsquo;re Looking For:</b></p>
<ul><li>7-10 years of experience in power plant, utility, or industrial power systems</li>
<li>NETA Level III or IV strongly preferred; journeyman or equivalent advanced credentials also accepted</li>
<li>Expert-level experience with protection &amp; control systems, relay testing, and high-voltage commissioning</li>
<li>Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and PowerDB for documentation</li>
<li>Ability to lead teams, delegate tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure</li>
<li>Thorough knowledge of NETA standards and safety regulations</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Additional Requirements:</b></p>
<ul><li>Willingness to travel at least 75%, including overnight stays and flexible scheduling</li>
<li>High school diploma or GED required</li>
<li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license with a clean driving record</li>
<li>Must pass a background check and drug/alcohol screening</li>
<li>Available for flexible hours, overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, or nights</li>
<li>Able to work outdoors in all weather, at heights (100+ ft), in confined spaces, and around high-voltage equipment and heavy machinery</li>
<li>Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and enduring extended physical activity</li>
<li>Requires good vision, hearing, and English proficiency for safe, effective communication in noisy environments</li>
<li>Annual safety training may require travel outside your assigned region</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Bonus Points for:</b></p>
<ul><li>NETA Level IV certification or recognized expert-level credentials</li>
<li>Completion of a trade school program, technical college, associate degree, or skilled trade certification in welding or a related field is strongly preferred</li>
<li>TWIC card</li>
<li>Experience leading commissioning crews and mentoring junior technicians</li>
<li>Deep familiarity with power plant environments and substation retrofits</li>
