Are you looking for a flexible schedule?RHEC is seeking to hire an individual who is proficient in math and skilled at working individually with adult learners. The Education Center houses over 150 degree/certification programs offered by member institutions with a diverse student population. We are looking for a dynamic individual who want to share their passion and math skills.We are seeking a tutor with a skill level ranging from high school through college-level ability who is comfortable providing tutoring services for both in-person and online students. (There is also a potential for 5th thru 12th grade tutoring.)Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>Work with students to focus on individual needs</li><li>Craft customized learning programs</li><li>Proficient in your area of expertise</li><li>Ability to teach students how to learn in both in-person and online settings</li><li>Must be able to attend required meetings and training sessions at RHEC</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul><li>Experienced tutor, preferably with adult students</li><li>Confidence and emotional maturity and stability</li><li>Professional, collaborator, flexible, honest, patient with students</li><li>Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook</li><li>Must be proficient in Google applications and web tools related to tutoring</li><li>Ability to work independently with limited supervision</li></ul>Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in related discipline required</li><li>Master&rsquo;s degree preferred</li><li>Recent teaching or tutoring experience preferred</li></ul>Hiring Range: $20 &ndash; 25/ hour (based on experience and education)Retired Teachers are encouraged to apply.Work Hours:<ul><li>This is a part-time position expected to be about 10 hours/week dependent on student class/work schedules.</li><li>Tutors must perform tutoring services at the Roanoke Higher Education Center</li></ul>A full position description and the RHEC-specific job application are available at https://www.education.edu/careers/Interested individuals MUST submit a separate RHEA employment application, cover letter, and resume for consideration directly to the RHEC jobs email address, as indicated on the RHEC website.Position will remain open until filled.Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Flexible schedule</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor's (Required)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>tutoring: 1 year (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Roanoke, VA 24016 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
