Job Summary Join our dynamic fleet maintenance team as an Assistant Fleet Mechanic / Fleet Maintenance Assistant! In this energetic role, you will support the repair, maintenance, and inspection of a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and industrial machinery. Your hands-on expertise will help ensure our vehicles and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your mechanical skills in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the smooth operation of our fleet.Duties<ul><li>Assist senior mechanics with diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery</li><li>Perform routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, and fluid checks</li><li>Support fabrication and welding tasks to repair or modify equipment using power tools and hand tools</li><li>Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, and air brake systems</li><li>Conduct inspections on vehicles and equipment to identify issues related to suspension, shocks &amp; struts, HVAC systems, and alignment</li><li>Aid in assembling new machinery or components following technical specifications</li><li>Operate heavy equipment safely during maintenance tasks and assist with heavy lifting as needed</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Previous experience working in a dealership or heavy equipment service environment is highly preferred</li><li>Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive repair, diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems</li><li>Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and using power tools for repairs and modifications</li><li>Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex machinery</li><li>Familiarity with service technician practices including tire service, brake repair, suspension work, and HVAC systems</li><li>Excellent customer service skills when interacting with team members or external clients regarding maintenance needs</li><li>Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy machinery safely throughout the workday</li></ul>Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to maintaining top-tier fleet operations!
