About the Job
This position requires in person work out of our office in Perry Hall, Maryland
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Compliance Officer to support our Chief Compliance Officer in developing, implementing, and administering all aspects of the bank's compliance program. This role plays a critical part in ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations, guiding internal teams, and maintaining our high standards of integrity and accountability.
What You'll Do:
<ul><li>Manage daily operations of the compliance function, including strategic initiatives, regulatory change implementation, and compliance reviews. Direct manager of the Compliance Specialist.
</li><li>Oversee outsourced compliance reviews, internal audits, regulatory exams, consumer complaint tracking, marketing approvals, board reporting, and training modules.</li><li>
Provide guidance to the Compliance Specialist and bank personnel on regulatory matters.</li><li>
Lead Compliance and CRA Committee meetings and present regulatory updates.</li><li>
Serve as a resource for internal compliance inquiries and ensure timely, accurate responses.</li><li>
Collaborate with departments to ensure policies and procedures align with legal and regulatory requirements.</li><li>
Act as liaison to compliance legal counsel and assist with vendor management and contract review.</li><li>
Support special projects and contribute to continuous improvement of compliance practices.</li></ul>
What You'll Bring:
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent industry experience</li><li>
Minimum 5 years of bank compliance experience with strong knowledge of federal and state banking laws</li><li>
1&ndash;3 years of supervisory experience</li><li>
Compliance certification (CRCM or CCBCO) preferred</li><li>
Strong understanding of banking operations, products, and interdepartmental functions</li><li>
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills</li><li>
Ability to interpret and communicate complex legal and regulatory concepts</li><li>
Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), including charts, pivot tables, and data filters</li></ul>
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements<ul><li>
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (50%-75% of the time).</li><li>
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.</li><li>
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.</li></ul>
