Running Y Properties

<div>Your warm and friendly disposition and outstanding customer service skills will be the first impression that our restaurant guests will encounter as they arrive at our upscale dining establishment, the Ruddy Duck. You will also support the restaurant servers as needed throughout your shift.
Restaurant Host/Hostess
General Responsibilities<ul><li>
Greet guests, escort them to tables or appropriate waiting area, provide menus and communicate the guest arrival to the server.</li><li>
Record table status accordingly based on seating and server assignment charts.</li><li>
Maintain a clean working area by sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of glass doors and windows, etc. as needed.</li><li>
Demonstrate excellent communication skills including telephone etiquette. Communicate special guest needs to servers and restaurant supervisors.</li><li>
Collect and maintain cleanliness of dining menus, wine menus or appetizer menus throughout the restaurant.</li><li>
Maintain communication with management, kitchen staff, service staff and guests to ensure dining details are handled properly and guest concerns are addressed.</li><li>
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of restaurant offerings to communicate with guests and prepare them for their dining experience.</li><li>
Provide guidance to guests on resort activities, dining options and general resort and regional information.</li><li>
Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Job Qualifications
Education:
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred.</li></ul>
Experience:
<ul><li>Previous guest service experience preferred.</li><li>
Excellent oral communication skills required.</li><li>
Positive interpersonal skills required.</li><li>
Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.</li></ul>

Discretion / Independent Judgment
This position does represent the company in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances, as a Restaurant Host you will be expected to work with guests and visitors to ensure satisfaction. A Restaurant Host will have to take initiative and get creative in resolving guest challenges and involve a supervisor only when previous methods have been unsuccessful.
