The position: We are looking for a highly organized individual who is detail oriented and able to work independently. This is a full-time position.<ul><li>

Location: Davenport, IA
Requirements: Under the direction of the Director of Safety, the DOT Compliance/Fleet Manager focuses on ensuring the company&rsquo;s compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) required documentation including Driver Qualification (DQ), special permits, federal and state registrations, CS&amp;A testing, driver time records, and roadside inspections all with the goal of being able to produce accurate and up-to-date documents for review in a regulatory audit. Must provide top-tier customer service to all internal and external customers.
Required Education and Experience:<ul><li>
CDL B with Hazmat, Tanker, and Airbrakes endorsements</li><li>
1-3 years of driving experience</li><li>
High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>
Basic math skills</li><li>
Strong organizational and follow-up skills</li><li>
Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word and Power Point</li></ul>
Preferred Education and Experience:<ul><li>
Experience with DOT/FMCSA regulations</li><li>
Associates degree</li><li>
CDL A</li><li>
Forklift and pallet jack experience</li><li>
Hand scanner experience</li><li>
Ability to use the following tools: Drill, Ratchet straps, hammer, crescent wrench, cylinder/can carts, liquid cylinders.</li><li>
Mechanical skills.</li></ul>
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Communicate any safety violation or issue when it is discovered to immediate supervisor.</li><li>
Work with customers and S.J. Smith employees to provide superior customer service</li><li>
Effectively communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.</li><li>
Comply with all customer and S.J. Smith company policies as well as FDA, DOT, FMCSA, OSHA regulations, etc.</li><li>
Sort, file and review all DOT compliance paperwork such as driver hours of service logs, post trip vehicle inspections and hazardous material shipping papers.</li><li>
Audit driver vehicle post-trip inspection reports (DVIR) for (90) days.</li><li>
Orders vehicle replacement; collaborate with Brown and Enterprise leasing companies to build and replace existing leased trucks and cars.</li><li>
Maintains licensing and insurance on all owned or leased cars and trucks</li><li>
Reviews drivers files/log books; scheduled and randomly</li><li>
Maintains vehicle license files, titles, and registrations</li><li>
Serves on the safety committee that audits our stores for compliance to DOT, FDA, and OSHA rules and regulations</li><li>
Road test all full-time truck drivers annually</li><li>
Oversee truck GPS/ dashcams in all Route trucks, work with Regional Operation Managers and Branch Managers when violations are identified.</li><li>
Assist with Medical Gas and Food Grade Audits</li><li>
Shuttle trucks as needed when vehicles break down at branches.</li></ul> 
This position offers a starting hourly rate of $25/hr. The starting rate is subject to change based on education and experience.
