You should be someone who has the highest standards, takes pride in their work and enjoys working with people.Responsibilities of the Purchasing Agent:<ul><li>Soliciting vendors and contractors.</li><li>Sending and receiving RFPs.</li><li>Creating and sending scopes of work for bid packages.</li><li>Reviewing contractor bids and supplier/material quotes.</li><li>Filing invoices and entering data into various systems.</li><li>Filing all bids and pricing received and entering data into various systems.</li><li>Managing, ordering, and tracking of construction materials.</li><li>Building relationships and working with subcontractors, suppliers and vendors.</li><li>Creating and sending purchase orders and change orders.</li><li>Pre-qualifying subcontractors.</li><li>Setting up and monitoring option costs.</li><li>Maintaining and updating current budgets.</li><li>Performing various analysis of contractors, suppliers, and jobs.</li><li>Analysis of actual costs versus budgets to improve estimating and job costing.</li><li>Executing new job start process.</li><li>Using Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Professional.</li><li>Using construction management software.</li><li>Using various systems and software to manage and track daily activities.</li><li>Address issues promptly, efficiently, and in a courteous manner.</li><li>Assist the Pricing &amp; Estimating manager with day-to-day tasks.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Employer maintains the right to modify job duties and responsibilities at its discretion. Employee will follow any other instruction and perform other related duties as may be required to accommodate the needs of the business.Requirements of Purchasing Agent: <ul><li>Must have a valid driver&rsquo;s license with a safe driving record and must have reliable transportation.</li><li>Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.</li><li>Must have great references and work history.</li><li>Must have bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or over two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Must be able to read and understand blueprints.</li><li>Ability to use construction management software to quantify certain material categories.</li><li>Ability to identify and quantify certain product categories.</li><li>Experience with Buildertrend software is very helpful.</li><li>Experience with any construction managing software is helpful.</li><li>Experience with any estimating software is helpful.</li><li>Experience with estimating, purchasing, and purchase orders is very helpful.</li><li>Residential construction knowledge is very helpful.</li><li>Must have very strong customer service and phone skills.</li><li>Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel spreadsheets, Outlook, and Word with an aptitude to learn new software programs.</li><li>Strong proficiency in Adobe Professional</li><li>Ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.</li><li>Ability to analyze information, identifying discrepancies and inconsistencies.</li><li>Able to plan and prioritize while focusing on detail orientation and effective time management.</li><li>Ability to meet deadlines and administer a task priority listing based on company needs.</li><li>Collaborative and able to work with trade partners and employees across multiple departments.</li><li>Self-directed and motivated.</li><li>Must work well with others and function in a team environment.</li><li>Must possess the ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with our vendors, personnel, and clients.</li><li>Strong time management and organizational skills.</li><li>Must be very organized with great attention to detail and follow-through.</li><li>Strong Problem-solving skills.</li><li>Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment and able to drop/pick-up tasks as requested.</li><li>Must be able to accept constructive criticism.</li><li>Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.</li><li>This is an in-person full-time position only. Neither remote nor part time will be considered</li><li>Prompt and timely attendance required.</li></ul>Physical Demand/Work EnvironmentWork is typically performed in an office environment.
