</div><div>Summary:
The Criminal Court Case Manager, based in the courthouse walk-in reception center, provides comprehensive, client-centered assistance to individuals and families impacted by violence and abuse. Core services provided by the Case Manager include safety assessment and risk management, orientation to court process, information about victims&rsquo; rights and role, crisis intervention and supportive counseling, criminal justice and personal advocacy, and referrals.
Essential Job Functions:
The Case Manager will work with clients who access the Criminal Court reception center and address their immediate needs. The Case Manager&rsquo;s responsibilities include:
<ul><li>Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Provides orientation to law enforcement and court process and victims&rsquo; rights and options, and supports clients to make informed decisions;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Liaises with the Criminal Court Bureau and Special Victims Unit, County DA&rsquo;s Office and assists victims scheduled for interviews with County DA&rsquo;s Office staff;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Conducts client-centered safety assessment and risk management planning;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Provides short-term crisis intervention and supportive counseling in person and by telephone;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assists victims to obtain orders of protection;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Provides updates and assists clients in reporting any continued harassment and other violations;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assists victims to obtain Office of Victims Services compensation, restitution, and relocation assistance;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Advocates with District Attorney&rsquo;s Office, police, housing, employers, schools, child protective, and other social service agencies;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Provides information about and referrals to governmental and non-governmental organizations including shelters, domestic violence and sexual assault organizations, mental health treatment, public assistance, and legal services;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Provides emergency practical assistance for clients including transportation, financial assistance, and lock replaces;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Enters data into a computerized record keeping system and maintains thorough and accurate case records and statistics;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintains routine administrative responsibilities include preparation of correspondence, maintenance of files, mail, e-mail and telephones;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Works collaboratively with partners including County District Attorney&rsquo;s Office, Court staff, New York Police Department, NYC Mayor&rsquo;s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence, and community based organizations;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Works collaboratively with other Safe Horizon programs;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Participates in staff meetings, supervision, and relevant trainings and seminars;</li></ul>
Knowledge and Skills:
Required skills:
<ul><li>Compassion towards victims/survivors;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (be assertive, collaborative, and well-organized);</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to work under pressure in a calm and reassuring manner;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Competency using computers, Microsoft Outlook, and systems for managing case records;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Strong work ethic and positive attitude</li></ul>
Desirable:
<ul><li>Understanding of victimization and trauma;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Fluency in Spanish or another second language spoken by client population is strongly preferred;</li></ul>
Education:
Required:
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree or equivalent experience
Experience:
Required:
Training, employment, internship, and/or volunteer experience in criminal justice, social work, or related field
Desirable:
<ul><li>At least one year of experience working in a social services, domestic violence, criminal justice, or comparable agency</li></ul>
<ul><li>Experience working with people in crisis</li></ul>
<ul><li>Experience working with diverse client population</li></ul>
<ul><li>Familiarity with legal and social service systems in NYC</li></ul>

The Safe Horizon DV Shelter Program provides safe and confidential spaces for DV survivors and their children. We are committed to providing these services with empathy, compassion, professionalism, non-judgement, and respect. Our spaces respect survivors&rsquo; right to self-determination and focus on giving families and individuals the space, both emotional and physical, to heal from the victimization and trauma they have experienced.

Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients. Coach and guide staff in their client practice that reflects these approaches.</li>
<li>Essential Job Functions: The Senior Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the shelter program. Specific duties include but are not limited to:</li>
<li>Managing and administering the shelter program from a trauma informed perspective that focuses on resident centered practice and vicarious trauma;</li>
<li>Mediating disputes and addressing grievances from a trauma informed perspective;</li>
<li>Recruiting, hiring, coaching, mentoring and supervising a multi-disciplinary group of onsite staff that includes understanding and responding to vicarious trauma (both for self and for staff members);</li>
<li>Ensuring that all staff receive high quality bi-weekly individual and monthly group supervision that is reflective and prioritizes improvement of Resident Centered Practice skills and includes discussions about vicarious trauma</li>
<li>Management and over site of billing process including reaching expected utilization targets, managing expenses, monitoring of onsite resident resources; and accurate resident documentation (electronic and hard copies)</li>
<li>Completing annual staff performance evaluations; developing staff professional development plans and strong utilization of the agency&rsquo;s performance management tools;</li>
<li>Managing and administering the shelter program including fiscal management of budget, billing, and adherence to agency, city and state and federal regulations; successfully completing program audits by City, State and Federal regulators;</li>
<li>Collaborating with internal departments to ensure programs run efficiently (Training Department, Domestic Violence Administration, Human Resources, Development, Finance, Legal etc.); Developing partnerships with other community based organizations, acting as a liaison to other organizations;</li>
<li>Growing donor relationships in partnership with the Development Department; including hosting donor tours, and working with donors/volunteers for special events at the site; Developing scattered sites as needed;</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with residents and staff Utilization of Client Centered Practice (CCP) skills</li>
<li>Ability to use neutral and non-judgmental language when responding to clients Understanding and responding to vicarious trauma</li>
<li> Ability to engage with clients using a trauma informed perspective</li>
<li>Must be flexible, patient and able to juggle multiple roles simultaneously</li>
</ul>
Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Graduate degree in a Human Services or related field, plus a minimum of four years relevant experience operating a facility/and or working with domestic violence survivors.</li>
<li>Must include at least one year of supervisory experience.</li>
</ul>
This position will operate on a hybrid schedule of 4 days on site and 1 day remote per week
