OVERALL SUMMARYThis non-exempt position is responsible, through supervision and skill, for providing a safe, playful and therapeutic environment for children at the Playroom. This position reports to the Playroom Manager.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<ul><li>Care for children ranging from 0-12 years old utilizing non-directive play, art media, and dramatic play to support the children&rsquo;s social, emotional and physical development.</li><li>Provide for children&rsquo;s basic needs while in care including but not limited to changing diapers, preparing meals and feeding, as well as maintaining a clean and safe Playroom environment.</li><li>Facilitate developmental growth for children by identifying developmental concerns and helping children to improve peer relationships, regulate emotions, and express their needs appropriately.</li><li>Work with children individually and in groups.</li><li>Work with the Playroom team to organize and distribute in-kind donations of children&rsquo;s clothes and toys.</li><li>Participate in creating an environment where parents are assisted to create and experience shared positive emotions with each of their children.</li><li>Support the parent/child relationship by helping parents with any concerns they might have in dealing with their child or parenting.</li><li>Participate in planning and discussions around how best to support client families.</li><li>Build supportive relationships with parents.</li><li>Participate in weekly staff meetings; contribute observations concerning children to scheduled debrieﬁngs.</li><li>Document children&rsquo;s developmental progress and any concerns in the children&rsquo;s behavior.</li><li>Aid in coordination of Playroom and organizational activities with volunteers, staff members, and consultants.</li><li>Enter data for Playroom on Salesforce when required.</li><li>Helps facilitate parent/child groups.</li><li>Attend and participate in regular staff meetings, 1-on-1 supervision meetings, department trainings (TalkLine training, Playroom training, etc)</li></ul>Undertake other duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Proﬁciency verbal and written in Spanish or Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin).</li><li>Degree in Child Development, Psychology, Social work (or related field/degree.),or 4 years of equivalent work with children required.</li><li>Previous experience working with children establishing and maintaining a fun and safe environment required.</li><li>Ability to work in a high-pressure environment required.</li><li>Ability to work with and sensitivity to the needs of diverse ethnic and cultural staff and client population.</li><li>Ability to support parent/child relationships.</li><li>Ability to be ﬂexible, punctual and reliable.</li><li>Basic computer skills required: word processing and internet search capabilities.</li><li>Maintains compliance with HIPAA and organizational confidentiality policies by appropriately handling, storing, and sharing protected health information (PHI) and other sensitive client data in accordance with applicable laws and agency procedures.</li><li>CPR and First Aid certification required, or ability to obtain certification within a six (6) months upon hire and renewed every two years.</li></ul>POSITION SPECIFICATIONS<ul><li>Full-time; requiring flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support program operations.</li><li>This position follows a consistent schedule of Monday&ndash;Thursday, 9:30 AM&ndash;5:30 PM, with remote work on Fridays.</li><li>During the summer months, the Tuesday schedule shifts to 11:30 AM&ndash;7:30 PM to support evening programming.</li><li>In-person work required.</li><li>Non-Exempt</li><li>Position will be ﬁngerprinted and reference-checked. Extensive sitting, bending, running and playing with children is expected in this position.</li></ul>The base salary for this position is $30.6030 per hour and is eligible for agency-sponsored benefits and language premium. Program Coordinator - Therapeutic Playroom

OVERALL SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing direct care management services to families enrolled in our Supportive Family Services Program through the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA). FFPSA was signed into law as part of Public Law (P.L.) 115&ndash;123 and has several provisions to enhance support services for families to help children remain at home, reduce the unnecessary use of congregate care, and build the capacity of communities to support children and families. The law enables states and territories to use funds for prevention services, such as:<ul><li>Evidence-based mental health programs</li><li>Substance abuse prevention and treatment</li><li>In-home parent skill-based programs</li><li>Kinship navigator programs</li></ul>In addition to providing direct care management to FFPSA families referred from the Child Protective Services (CPS) hotline, this position will hold as the primary Program Coordinator during our Parent Drop-In program, Family Events, and other Supportive Family Services. This position is fulltime and employment is contingent upon the availability of funding. In the event that funding is reduced or discontinued, this position may be modified to a part time role (approximately 50% FTE).ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCare Management<ul><li>Maintain a direct caseload of clients, providing individualized, client-centered care while balancing supervisory and program responsibilities.</li><li>Participate actively as a member of monthly Case Conference meetings and attend monthly meetings accordingly</li><li>Maintain regular contact and communication with Program Associates, Program Manager, Care Management and the Sr. Program Manager, Care Management.</li><li>Collaborate with Program Associates and other service providers to provide care management, information and referral to FFPSA families, in keeping with their agreed-upon service plans.</li><li>Provide time-limited supportive counseling, crisis counseling, and/or case management to families, as needed</li><li>Performs intakes for FFPSA referrals, making referrals, and providing drop-in counseling during Parent Drop-in program</li><li>Serves as Coordinator of the Day for the Parent Drop-In program as needed. Provides oversight and coordination of the Parent Drop-In program, including supporting other staff and interns providing drop-in services.</li><li>Assists and supports our Parent Drop-In program as needed including helping set up and break down.</li><li>Coordinates family support center services including Food Pantry, Emergency Needs Support, information and referrals.</li><li>Attend, support, and supervise family events including holiday, seasonal events, periodic workshops as well as educational activities (may require some evening and weekends).</li></ul>General Program Operations<ul><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all services provided, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, agency, and funding requirements.</li><li>Attend staff meetings, trainings, and other professional development activities as directed by the supervisor.</li><li>Assist with the collection, tracking, and reporting of program data to monitor family progress toward outcomes and support continuous program improvement.</li><li>Ensure compliance with HIPAA and agency confidentiality policies, handling protected health information and sensitive client data with care, discretion, and in accordance with legal and organizational standards.</li><li>Attend and participate in regular staff meetings, 1-on-1 supervision meetings, department trainings (TalkLine training, Playroom training, etc).</li></ul>Undertake other duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Proﬁciency verbal and written in Spanish Required</li><li>Associate's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work or other related field preferred</li><li>At least two (2) or more years of relevant experience preferably in a non-profit social service environment</li><li>Knowledge of community resources in San Francisco, cultural competency practices</li><li>Previous experience working with youth and their families that are underserved, marginalized and high risk with trauma histories strongly preferred.</li><li>Ability to build effective working relationships with staff, set clear expectations, and provide both positive and negative feedback in a timely manner.</li><li>Ability to effectively collaborate with clients to complete assessments and develop appropriate service plans that support their protective factors</li><li>Ability to use both qualitative and quantitative data to inform service planning and monitor client progress towards achieving outcomes/goals.</li><li>Ability to work with diverse staff and client populations.</li><li>Ability to prioritize work effectively in an environment with multiple competing priorities.</li><li>Ability to work tactfully and effectively with representatives of city agencies, community-based organizations, and the community at large.</li><li>Ability to operate within and lead a complex service delivery structure.</li><li>Ability to handle crisis situations.</li><li>Ability to use excellent time management and organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to use computer skills: word processing, using digital recordkeeping systems to collect and track data, and internet search capabilities.</li><li>Demonstrated experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds.</li><li>CPR and First Aid certification required, or ability to obtain certification within a six (6) months upon hire and renewed every two years.</li></ul>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Adhere to professional boundaries and standards.
