The ER RN provides rapid and skilled care to patients who arrive at the hospital seeking emergency medical attention. The ER Nurses are skilled professionals who play a critical role in delivering emergent and urgent care to patients in the emergency department. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.</div><div></div><div><b><br>

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):</b></div><ul><li>
Assess patients upon arrival to determine the severity of their condition and prioritize care accordingly, follow standardized triage protocols to quickly identify patients who require immediate attention due to life-threatening conditions</li><li>
Provide direct care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and injuries which may involve administering medications, performing procedures such as wound care or splinting, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain</li><li>
In cases of severe illness or trauma, you may assist with stabilizing patients and initiating life-saving interventions, this can include advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS), and trauma care</li><li>
Manage high-stress and rapidly changing situations effectively. remain calm, focused, and decisive while providing care to multiple patients simultaneously during busy shifts or mass casualty events</li><li>
Communicate with the physician about the changes in the patient&rsquo;s clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology</li><li>
Stay up to date with Emergency Medical Treatment &amp; Labor Act (EMTALA) regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker</li><li>
Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions</li></ul>
Qualifications:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING<br>
<br>
1. Current and valid state RN License.<br>
2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.<br>
3. Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.<br>
4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
<br>
6. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 6 months of hire required.
<br>
7. Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
<br>
8. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
<br>
9. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.</div><div></div><div><br>
Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):</div><div></div><div><br>
1. In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.

2. EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
<br>
3. Non OB facilities: NRP (AHA) certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.</div><div></div><div><br>
