Job Summary:

The Plumbing Designer will support the development of Revit models and construction documents for plumbing and fire protection systems. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in a variety of market sectors, such as healthcare, science &amp; technology, K-12, higher education, and commercial projects. This position is offered in a hybrid work environment, with a combination of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

<ul><li>Prepare Revit model drawings, and construction documents for plumbing and fire protection systems.</li>
<li>Produce floor plans, riser diagrams, schedules, details, and equipment layouts for new and renovation projects.</li>
<li>Work under the guidance of senior staff with increasing independence.</li>
<li>Assist with plumbing system layouts including domestic water, sanitary, vent, storm, and gas systems.</li>
<li>Incorporate markups, redlines, and design direction in accurate construction documents.</li>
<li>Coordinate Revit models with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines.</li>
<li>Participate in clash detection and resolve coordination issues during design development.</li>
<li>Maintain drawing standards, sheet organization, annotations, and project documentation quality.</li>
<li>Prepare design calculations and selection of equipment for building plumbing systems.</li>
<li>Write and edit plumbing and fire protection specifications, engineering reports, and other technical design documentation.</li>
<li>Research applicable industry codes and standards and apply requirements to project designs.</li>
<li>Support construction administration through submittal reviews, RFIs, punch walks, field revisions, and as-built updates.</li>
<li>Meet project schedules and production deadlines while maintaining drafting accuracy.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications and Experience:
<ul><li>You have a minimum of 3 years of plumbing/fire protection design experience</li>
<li>LEED certification/experience is a plus, CPD is preferred</li>
<li>Experience with laboratories/medical facilities design is preferred</li>
<li>Should have working knowledge of the ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA, and NEC; with a preference for knowledge of the IBC, IMC, IECC, and IPC requirements.</li>
</ul>
Skills/Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Proficient in Bluebeam Revu, Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office</li>
<li>Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines</li>
<li>Excellent work ethic and attitude</li>
<li>Good communication and time management skills</li>
<li>Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work</li>
</ul>

Compensation &amp; Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $95,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
