<div><p>The Advanced Excel and Computer Skills Workforce Trainer will be responsible for delivering high quality instruction in advanced MS Excel and other essential computer skills, including basic computer literacy, internet navigation, and other MS Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. This position requires an ability to engage and support a wide range of students, ensuring they gain the necessary skills to succeed in a technology-driven environment. The ideal candidate will engage adult learners in meaningful learning experiences tailored to their individual needs and skill levels. This role requires daytime availability and may involve teaching at multiple campus locations.</p></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities &amp; Knowledge Skills &amp; Abilities</b></h2></div>
<p></p><div><ul><li><p>Develop and deliver engaging lessons on advanced Excel topics, including data analysis, advanced formulas, macros, and pivot tables.</p></li><li><p>
Teach foundational computer skills and other MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) as needed.</p></li><li><p>
Facilitate classroom discussions, exercises, and activities that reinforce learning objectives and encourage student participation.</p></li><li><p>
Provide individualized support to students, reviewing previous lessons, running exercises, and ensuring they understand the material.</p></li><li><p>
Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, exams, and provide timely, constructive feedback.</p></li><li><p>
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress in accordance with college policies.</p></li><li><p>
Ensure a positive and effective learning environment by managing classroom dynamics and addressing any issues that arise.</p></li><li><p>
Collaborate with lab aides to provide technical support and assistance during class sessions.</p></li><li><p>
Report any course-related issues or updates to the program coordinator and manager.</p></li><li><p>
Follow the approved course curriculum and adapt it as necessary to meet emerging industry standards or address specific student needs.</p></li><li><p>
Stay current with technological advancements and incorporate them into the curriculum as appropriate.</p></li><li><p>
Attend required training sessions, departmental meetings, and engage in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.</p></li><li><p>
Maintain open communication with program manager, coordinators, lab aides, and other trainers to ensure alignment with program goals.</p></li><li><p>
Ensure the computer lab is organized, equipment is functional, and all resources are available and ready for use by students.</p></li><li><p>
Assist in maintaining an up-to-date and organized lab space, ensuring it is conducive to learning.</p></li></ul>
Knowledge Skills &amp; Abilities<ul><li><p><br>
Expertise in advanced Excel and ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively.</p></li><li><p>
Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues and assist students in resolving technical problems.</p></li><li><p>
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to students with varying levels of computer knowledge.</p></li><li><p>
Ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including those of various academic, racial, age, and socio-economic backgrounds.</p></li><li><p>
Strong interpersonal communication skills, capable of working effectively with students, lab aides, and other members in a collaborative environment.</p></li><li><p>
Demonstrated ability to create a supportive learning environment.</p></li><li><p>
Must be adaptable, flexible, and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic classroom setting.</p></li><li><p>
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during instructional sessions or in the lab environment.</p></li><li><p>
Must be dependable, organized, and able to maintain accurate records of student performance and lab activities.</p></li><li><p>
Ability to represent the College and Division in a professional manner, adhering to College policies and procedures.</p></li><li><p>
Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on supporting student success and fostering a positive learning experience</p></li><li><p>
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.</p></li><li><p>

<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Minimum qualifications</b></h2></div>
<p></p><div><ul><li><p>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or equivalent certifications with significant relevant experience.</p></li><li><p>
At least one year of teaching experience, preferably in adult education or related field.</p></li><li><p>
Proficiency in advanced Excel features, including data analysis, pivot tables, and macros.</p></li><li><p>
Proficient in using computer software, including MS Windows operating systems, MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), and internet research tools.</p></li><li><p>
Must have a vehicle and valid driver&rsquo;s license for travel to multiple campus locations if required.</p></li></ul></div><p></p>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></h2></div>
<p></p><div><ul><li><p>Bachelor&rsquo;s or Graduate degree in a related field.</p></li><li><p>
Certifications in Excel or other relevant computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Specialist or similar).</p></li><li><p>
Three or more years of teaching or training experience, particularly with adult learners.</p></li><li><p>
Experience in curriculum development and instructional design.</p></li><li><p>
Experience using Canvas and Zoom technologies.</p></li></ul></div><p></p>
