Position Summary: We are seeking a proactive and resourceful HR Generalist with a strong focus on recruiting for construction roles. This position plays a critical role in attracting top talent, supporting HR operations, and ensuring compliance across a dynamic, multi-site workforce. The ideal candidate will have experience in both full-cycle recruitment and core HR functions, with a deep understanding of the construction industry.Talent Acquisition<ul><li>Manage full-cycle recruitment for construction roles, including laborers, foremen, superintendents, estimators, and project managers</li><li>Partner with hiring managers to forecast workforce needs and develop strategic sourcing plans</li><li>Source candidates through job boards, trade schools, unions, referrals, and social media</li><li>Conduct interviews, coordinate pre-employment screenings, and extend offers</li><li>Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future projects</li></ul>Industry Engagement<ul><li>Represent the company at job fairs, apprenticeship expos, and industry events</li><li>Build relationships with vocational schools, veteran organizations, and local workforce development programs</li><li>Stay current on labor market trends, wage benchmarks, and regional talent availability</li></ul>Compliance &amp; Reporting<ul><li>Ensure recruiting practices align with labor laws, EEO standards, and safety regulations</li><li>Track recruitment metrics (time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, source effectiveness) and provide regular reports</li><li>Support onboarding and orientation in collaboration with HR and field operations</li></ul>Required Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience recruiting for construction-related roles (field and office)</li><li>Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and compliance standards</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills</li><li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-site environment</li><li>Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms</li></ul>Education &amp; Experience<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field</li><li>3+ years of HR experience, with at least 1 year in construction or skilled trades recruiting</li><li>PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>Medical / Dental / Vision Insurance</li><li>Life Insurance</li><li>Disability Insurance</li><li>401k &ndash; Company match</li><li>Vacation / Sick / Holidays</li></ul>The SAM Construction Group is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
