We are seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Import Logistics Manager to join our dynamic team in Iraq. This is a high-pressure, high-volume role responsible for managing the end-to-end logistics for all our inbound container shipments.Reports to: Head of Supply Chain / Logistics DirectorLocation: IRAQ (Full-time, On-site)The ideal candidate is a hands-on expert who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be our primary point of contact for all import operations, managing massive volumes of 20ft and 40ft High Cube (HC) containers, which include both bulk materials and general cargo.This position requires mandatory relocation to Iraq. We strongly welcome applications from candidates currently in India who are willing to relocate, or those who have previous work experience in Iraq.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>End-to-End Import Management: Oversee the complete logistics cycle for high-volume inbound shipments from port of loading to final destination in Iraq.</li><li>Container Management: Expertly manage 20ft &amp; 40ft HC containers, with specific experience handling both bulk-loaded cargo (e.g., grains, raw materials) and standard general cargo.</li><li>Shipping Line Negotiation: Serve as the main liaison with all major shipping lines. Manage relationships, negotiate freight rates, track shipments, and proactively resolve issues (e.g., vessel delays, equipment shortages, demurrage, and detention).</li><li>Customs &amp; Clearance: Direct and manage relationships with customs clearing agents in Iraq. Ensure all import documentation (Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Packing Lists, etc.) is 100% accurate and submitted on time to guarantee smooth and rapid customs clearance.</li><li>Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve all logistics bottlenecks, documentation errors, or customs delays to minimize costs and ensure operational continuity.</li><li>Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all shipments, costs, and transit times. Provide regular reports to senior management on import KPIs.</li></ul>Required Qualifications &amp; Skills<ul><li>Experience: 10-15 years of proven experience in import logistics, specifically working for a large-scale import company or a major shipping line.</li><li>Volume Handling: Demonstrable experience managing very high volumes of containerized imports (hundreds of TEUs per month).</li><li>Cargo Expertise: Must have hands-on experience managing both bulk cargo (loaded directly into containers) and general palletized/crated cargo.</li><li>Stakeholder Management: Exceptional negotiation and relationship management skills with shipping lines and customs clearing agents.</li><li>Language: Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) is mandatory. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth, compliant, and efficient execution of our international tea shipments.The ideal candidate will have 10-12 years of deep, hands-on experience in the entire export-import lifecycle. You will be responsible for managing complex documentation (including LCs and High Seas Sales), coordinating logistics, and leveraging your strong relationships with shipping lines and CHAs to ensure seamless operations.Key ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-End Documentation: Manage the preparation, verification, and timely submission of all export and import documents, including Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading (BL), and shipping bills.Letter of Credit (LC) Management: Expertly scrutinize, prepare, and negotiate documents under Letters of Credit (LC) to ensure 100% compliance with UCP 600 and guarantee timely payment.Certificate of Origin (COO): Oversee the generation and application for all types of COOs, including specialized *GSP COOs*, ensuring they meet the requirements of the destination country.Complex Shipments: Independently handle complex trade structures, including *High Seas Sales* and third-country exports, ensuring all documentation is accurate.Bank &amp; Finance:<ul><li>Lead *bank bill negotiations* and manage the submission of documents to the bank.</li><li>Ensure diligent follow-up and reconciliation of *Bank EBRC (Electronic Bank Realization Certificate)*.</li><li>Logistics &amp; Relationship Management:*</li><li>Manage end-to-end *logistics*, including freight booking, container planning, and coordination with transporters.</li><li>Utilize and maintain excellent working *relationships with shipping lines* to secure competitive freight rates and timely container availability.</li><li>Liaise effectively with *Custom House Agents (CHA)* for smooth and timely customs clearance.</li></ul>Compliance: Ensure all export and import activities are fully compliant with customs regulations, FEMA, and international trade laws.Multi-Port Operations: Apply your experience working with *multiple ports* to navigate different port procedures and requirements efficiently.Qualifications &amp; SkillsExperience: 10-12 years of mandatory, hands-on experience specifically in export-import documentation and logistics.Industry: Experience in Tea, Agri-commodity, or FMCG exports is highly preferred.Technical Expertise (Must-Have):* In-depth, practical knowledge of *Letter of Credit (LC)* operations.* Proven experience in handling *High Seas Sales*.* Expertise in *COO* and *GSP COO* generation.* Familiarity with *Import documentation* procedures.* Strong understanding of banking processes, including *EBRC* and *bill negotiations*.Relationships &amp; Network (Must-Have):* Must have established, strong relationships with key personnel at major *shipping lines* and freight forwarders.* Must have a strong rapport and working relationship with *CHAs* in Kolkata (and preferably other major ports).Skills:* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.* Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.* Ability to work independently and lead a small team.* Proactive and capable of working under pressure to meet tight shipment deadlines.Job Type: Full-timePay: Up to &#8377;1,200,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person
