<div>POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Navigator-Physician-Specific (CN) is responsible for assisting the physician in patient treatment issues, providing direct patient care, and maintaining proper standards of quality and integrity. The CN will serve as an extension of the physician (varying in specialties such as pain management, vascular, etc.) performing clinical duties while acquiring supplementary knowledge of the medical field and helping to make the workplace an efficient and effective environment for all. The CN will guide a patient through their healing journey at Sano Orthopedics. 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY<ul><li>
Optimize and nurture the patient experience</li><li>
Navigate patients through their visits</li><li>
Provide Pre-Operative education and Post-Operative care for patients</li><li>
Perform appropriate patient care duties when patient is in the clinic, including but not limited to:<ul><li>
Room patients</li><li>
Schedule follow ups</li><li>
Prepare and record charts appropriately within the EMR</li><li>
Employ skill in patient care and communication</li><li>
Assist with preparing and administering injections</li><li>
Prepare for and assist physician with minor procedures</li><li>
Communicate with external healthcare providers (Physician, PA, NP, ATs, PTs, OTs, RNs) on patient status</li><li>
Prepare and assist patient with needed paperwork (e.g. work status form)</li><li>
Home exercise program development and instruction</li><li>
Patient education</li><li>
Call in patient prescriptions as directed</li><li>
Utilize company Inventory Management System</li><li>
Assist physician with EMR functions required for proper documentation and capturing appropriate data</li><li>
Coordinate MRI and surgery referrals as needed</li><li>
Schedule surgeries as needed</li><li>
Print images as needed</li></ul></li><li>
Monitor patient and staff communication daily (Klara/TEAMS)</li><li>
Complete Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Short-Term Disability (STD) paperwork</li><li>
Report MRI and lab results to patients as directed by physician</li><li>
Obtain prior approval from insurance companies on prescriptions, injections, or procedures as needed</li><li>
Serve as preceptor and educational mentor for students and residents</li><li>
Facilitate the front office as needed</li><li>
Help manage physicians day-to-day schedule</li><li>
Help answer patient communication when not in clinic</li><li>
Attend mandatory full staff and clinical meetings and acknowledges receipt of and reviews minutes if absent</li><li>
Adhere to all company policies and procedures</li><li>
Engage primary care offices, athletic trainers, physical therapists, and other referral sources in an effort to increase awareness in the community</li><li>
Enhance the experience of referring providers</li><li>
Perform other related duties as required or assigned</li></ul> 
SKILLS<ul><li>
Understanding of Internal Classification of Diseases (ICD) and Common Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding</li><li>
Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy</li><li>
Strong customer service skills</li><li>
EMR experience (eClinical Works preferred)</li><li>
Highly detailed and accurate, with excellent organizational skills</li><li>
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; expresses thoughts and ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing; establishes trust and confidence quickly</li><li>
Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint and TEAMS).</li><li>
Must be computer literate with the ability to learn new software applications</li></ul>

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s or Master's Degree in Athletic Training or equivalent from a CAATE accredited program is preferred; Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant with 2+ years of clinical experience (Pain Management preferred) will be considered.</li><li>
State Licensed (or eligible for License in MO and KS) if applicable</li><li>
Certified Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification, Inc. (ATC) or applicable accrediting body</li><li>
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, preferred.</li></ul></div>

Clinical Navigator - Physician Specific Back, Neck & Spine

<div>POSITION SUMMARY
A Clinical Navigator Facility Outreach is an athletic trainer responsible for assisting the KC Monarchs team in providing comprehensive care to athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation. Working closely with the coaching staff, medical professionals, and team management, the AT ensures player health and performance are optimized throughout the season. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of sports medicine, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with travel and nontraditional hours. During the off-season, this position will assist with clinic duties at one of our facilities. 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY 
Baseball Season<ul><li>
Implement and direct medical care to players and staff at the affiliates within the scope that is outlined.</li><li>
Implement injury prevention programs at each affiliate in collaboration with the appropriate staff.</li><li>
Communicate progress, issues, plans, etc. for each player to appropriate parties to ensure consistency.</li><li>
Design and implement injury prevention programs tailored to individual athletes and team needs.</li><li>
Conduct on-field injury assessments and provide immediate care during practices, games, and training sessions.</li><li>
Develop and oversee rehabilitation programs to safely return players to full performance levels.</li><li>
Collaborate with physicians and other medical personnel for injury diagnosis and treatment plans.</li><li>
Maintain accurate and confidential records of injuries, treatments, and player progress.</li><li>
Ensure compliance with league and organizational health and safety protocols.</li><li>
Travel with the team for games and provide ongoing support during road trips.</li></ul> 
Off Season<ul><li>
Provide additional Athletic Training services to Sano&rsquo;s partnering schools or associations.</li><li>
Provide care to Sano Orthopedic patients in the clinical setting, including but not limited to:</li><li>
Room patients</li><li>
Schedule follow-ups</li><li>
Prepare and record charts appropriately within the EMR</li><li>
Employ skill in patient care and communication</li><li>
Fit Durable Medical Equipment (DME) for patients as prescribed</li><li>
Apply and remove casts/splints</li><li>
Remove staples and stitches</li><li>
Assist physician with preparing and administering injections</li><li>
Prepare for and assist physician with minor procedures</li><li>
Patient education</li><li>
Utilize company Inventory Management System</li><li>
Manage inventory and stocking of clinical supplies and durable medical equipment (DME)</li><li>
Maintain sterilization of clinical instruments</li><li>
Attend mandatory full staff and clinical meetings</li><li>
Adhere to all company policies and procedures</li><li>
Engage primary care offices, athletic trainers, physical therapists, and other referral sources in an effort to increase awareness in the community</li><li>
Perform other related duties as required or assigned</li></ul>
