Description

Certified Nursing Assistant to work in an ambulatory surgical center setting. 


Reports to: Director of Nursing 


Qualifications:

Current Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification required.

BLS required

Minimum of two years patient care experience required. 


Occupational Exposure:

Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards. 


Responsibilities:

<ul><li>Observes and reports patient&rsquo;s status and needs.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Answers call lights and attends to/reports patient needs.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Transfers, moves and repositions patients, as needed.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Monitors and records patient&rsquo;s vital signs like heart rate, pulse temperature and blood pressure, as needed.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assists physicians and nurses during examination and treatment of the patient.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Makes occupied and unoccupied beds.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Cleaning patient areas, including mopping, wiping and disinfecting.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintains current knowledge and certification requirements.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Respects and regards the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.</li></ul></div>
