The Academic Support Coordinator is responsible for organizing and sustaining academic support services for Student Support Services program participants. Primary duties include identifying academic coaches, facilitating preliminary training, and conducting frequent guidance for coaches. The Academic Support Coordinator is also a designated advisor for program participants. Supports student success and retention by ensuring a seamless transition from application through completion.<br>

<p></p><div><ul><li>Develop, organize, evaluate, and coordinate comprehensive tutoring and academic coaching services.</li><li>
Actively recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate a pool of student tutors.</li><li>
Serve as supervisor of the TRIO Tutoring Assistant position.</li><li>
Collaborate with Student Support Services staff regarding shared tutorial component.</li><li>
Support director in efforts to work collaboratively with faculty and area facilitators to ensure effectiveness of academic coaching services.</li><li>
Manage online tutorial database including dissemination of information to program participants.</li><li>
Personally contact and assess program participants tutoring/coaching needs, learning styles, and provide best practice guidelines.</li><li>
Conduct needs assessments and develop an individualized academic educational plan (IAEP) for each assigned student enabling smooth graduation or transition to a four-year institution.</li><li>
Remain current with appropriate tutoring and academic coaching theories, practices, and research. Including engagement in professional development.</li><li>
Provide individual and group advisement services including: academic advising, transfer planning, financial literacy education, academic skills and study strategies, career exploration, and personal support. Maintain records of student contacts.</li><li>
Monitor academic and graduation progress, provide needs assessments, and implement proactive intervention strategies.</li><li>
Plan and implement cultural and educational activities and educational opportunities for participants. This may include some evening and weekend hours in which limited travel may be necessary.</li><li>
Track and report service delivery efforts and outcomes on weekly basis to supervisor.</li><li>
Complete written reports as assigned and requested for reporting to the U.S. Department of Education and the College on a monthly, semester, and yearly basis.</li><li>
Collect, verify, and input accurate data into appropriate database systems on a daily basis.</li><li>
Participate in campus initiatives that support the program mission and goals, as well as creating and conducting presentations to market the program to diverse populations within the College.</li><li>
Assume all other reasonable professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.</li></ul><br>

One or two years experience with academic, transfer, career, or personal counseling, preferably in community colleges.
</li><li>Experience with career development and exploration with college/adults knowledge of study techniques and student learning.
</li><li>Experience in working with low-income and/or first generation college students, and/or students with disabilities; empathy towards the problems of under-represented groups.
</li><li>Preferred: Background similar to that of the Student Support Services Program Participants.</li></ul></div><br>

Position Overview</b><p>
The Athletic Trainer, under the general direction of the Director of Athletics, will develop, coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medical program for Sauk Valley Community College&rsquo;s intercollegiate sports programs. The athletic trainer will also perform professional and administrative services essential for the successful implementation and development of the program.</p><p><br>

<div><p><b>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><ul><li>
Provide quality comprehensive care for student-athletes through prevention, evaluation, care and treatment of injuries and illnesses, and assist with injury rehabilitation using established protocols for injury/illness referral, treatment, rehabilitation and return to play.</li><li>
Attend all home athletic contests as required for the purpose of providing training services prior to, during, and after events and games for both the home and visiting teams.</li><li>
Conduct regular office hours, providing services to student-athletes prior to, during and following practices.</li><li>
Ensure that all documentation is complete to ensure compliance with all NJCAA regulations.</li><li>
Manage and arrange (when needed) physicals for student-athletes and teams.</li><li>
Maintain medical records of injuries, treatment and care.</li><li>
Provide a comprehensive Concussion Protocol.</li><li>
Work directly with Sauk Valley Community College&rsquo;s athletic insurance provider.</li><li>
Oversee and maintain athletic training room and equipment.</li><li>
Communicate regularly with athletic/coaching staff regarding care and treatment of injuries.</li><li>
Instruct 1-2 sections of PED 213 (First Aid) per semester or other coursework (credit or non-credit) as assigned, including virtually or remote offerings, as deemed necessary by the administration.</li><li>
Provide coverage for the Sauk Valley Community College Fitness Center.</li><li>
Serve as Home Event Administration at athletic contests when Athletic Director is not present.</li><li>
Involvement in college wellness events, become a member or of the Wellness Committee and participate in any college wellness initiatives.</li><li>
Provide workshops or other initiatives to increase campus support of students (e.g., CPR Training).</li><li>
Aid the coaching staff in the construction and implementation of injury prevention programs.</li><li>
Manage home events including, but not limited to: creating program guides, managing live streams, playing the National Anthem, and facilitating score bench personnel. Set up water and other event specific supplies for home and away events.</li><li>
Assist in scheduling events, reserving rooms, and distributing promotional information throughout the College which includes, but is not limited to event contracts, officials' contracts, and contacting officials prior to contests.</li><li>
Work with the director in hiring, training, assigning, and supervising College work-studies.</li><li>
Assist with maintaining the athletic website.</li><li>
Maintain, update and monitor sport-specific social media accounts.</li><li>
Provide leadership to curriculum development for PED Courses.</li><li>
Provide direct instruction and assessment of student learning for PED Courses.</li><li>
Assume all other reasonable professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.</li></ul><b>
