Responsibilities:
<div><b>
SUMMARY:</b> This position requires the medical assistant to provide support to physicians and other clinical staff. The Medical Assistant performs routine clinical and clerical work.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Job Duties &amp; Essential Functions:</b></div><br>

Place patients in the examination rooms and document using the electronic medical record, medications, vitals and main reason for the visit.</li><li>
Perform screening and measuring procedures, which include but is not limited to, height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature.</li><li>
Assist with setting up and preparing the patient and equipment for exams and special procedures as needed.</li><li>
Collect blood or other laboratory specimens as requested by physician.</li><li>
Perform routine laboratory tests.</li><li>
Enter proposed orders into Electrical Medical Record for licensed independent provider review and approval.
</li><li>Obtain previous test results from outside labs, radiology, physicians&rsquo; offices, etc.</li><li>
Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians&rsquo; instructions to the patient in a clear and effective manner.</li><li>
Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies according to regulations.</li><li>
Maintain an adequate supply of medical inventory in each exam room.</li><li>
Ensure the cleanliness of each exam room.
</li><li>Prepare rooms after each patient and for specific procedures as needed.</li><li>
Order supplies as needed.</li><li>
Ensure HIPAA and OSHA guidelines are followed at all times.</li><li>
Perform administrative duties when needed; answering phones, scheduling appointments, etc.
</li><li>Create and update telephone encounters when reporting and responding to patients&rsquo; medical concerns and requests; forward to appropriate staff and medical providers.
</li><li>Adheres to protocol for patient flow (1. Reception, 2. Registration, 3. Triage, 4. Labs, 5. Escort to Provider).</li><li>
Adheres to Visit Completion Protocol (1. Receive encounter and referral forms, 2. Schedule next appointments, 3. Schedule outside referrals at appointed time, 4. Update visit log).</li><li>
Perform all other related duties as assigned by management.</li></ul>
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li>
High school diploma/GED.</li><li>
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program.
</li><li>Must have knowledge of medical terminology.</li><li>
Must have exceptional customer service and telephone etiquette.</li><li>
Must have ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.</li><li>
Must have computer and/or EMR experience.</li></ul><div><b>
Physical Demands:</b></div><div>

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Responsibilities:

SUMMARY:</b> The medical receptionist will assist the department with coordination of the daily operations of the front desk, and other duties to ensure efficient work flow and patient care.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Job Duties &amp; Essential Functions:</b></div><ul><li>
Perform all necessary receptionist duties including answering, screening, and routing of phone calls. Take appropriate messages and ensure the proper delivery of those messages. Be polite and courteous at all times.
</li><li>Assess telephone calls, including determining urgency of calls and referring urgent medical queries to physician or nurse immediately.
</li><li>Maintain clean and organized reception area.
</li><li>Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and/or other systems for check-in/check-out processes including verifying patient demographics, insurance information, obtaining patient signatures on applicable patient forms, and have the patient complete any paperwork associated with the visit.</li><li>
Enter/scan patient data into the EMR.
</li><li>Collect any necessary payments and process accordingly.
</li><li>Facilitate patient flow by notifying the provider of patients&rsquo; arrival, delays or backlogs and communicate with other staff and/or patients as necessary.
</li><li>Schedule patient appointments and remind the patients of any necessary documentation that may be required for their appointment.
</li><li>Schedule any services or procedures as needed.
</li><li>Obtain/retrieve referrals/authorizations/eligibility verification that may be required.
</li><li>Telephone patients if there is a change in the physician&rsquo;s schedule and/or if the patient&rsquo;s appointment needs to be rescheduled.
</li><li>Keep office supplies adequately stocked by anticipating inventory needs and placing orders or advising office manager of items needed.
</li><li>Ensure HIPAA guidelines are followed at all times.
</li><li>Provide additional coverage for night hours and weekend, as needed. Updating and maintaining integrity of client information.</li><li>
Perform all other duties as assigned by management.</li></ul>
Qualifications:

Required Education &amp; Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li>
High School diploma/GED.
</li><li>Strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).</li><li>
Excellent typing skills and friendly telephone etiquette.</li></ul><div><b>
Preferred Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li>
Graduate of an accredited Medical Office Administration program.</li><li>
6 months experience working as a Medical Receptionist in a high volume physician practice.
</li><li>1 year of clerical experience.</li><li>
Proficient in using an EMR and a practice management system.</li></ul><div><b>
