The Company's Total Rewards package is at or above industry levels. The expected base salary range for this position is between 98,880.00 USD - 129,780.00 USD. Job related skills, experience, education, and location will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short-term incentive and/or long-term incentives. ABOUT THE ROLE</div><div></div><div>

Based in vibrant San Francisco, and reporting to the Packaging Engineering Manager, the Senior Associate, Packaging Engineer plays a key role in creating the next generation of packaging for some of the world&rsquo;s most loved consumer brands.</div><div>
In this role, you&rsquo;ll help bring ideas from concept to self, developing new packaging, supporting line extensions, and driving technical innovation that keeps our products fresh, functional, and sustainable. You&rsquo;ll collaborate across R&amp;D, marketing, and supply chain to solve real-world challenges and deliver packaging that delights consumers globally.</div><div>

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</div><ul><li><div>
Leverage new and existing packaging technologies to develop innovative packaging solutions and elevate existing products&mdash;driving consumer appeal, ease of use, and helping SC Johnson win at the shelf.</div></li><li><div>
Plan and execute performance, reliability, and compatibility testing to validate packaging component changes and ensure long‑term product quality.</div></li><li><div>
Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (R&amp;D, Design, Marketing, Consumer Insights, Product Supply) to accelerate development and ensure flawless execution of new product launches.</div></li><li><div>
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including packaging component specifications, finished goods specifications, and bills of materials to support validation and production readiness.</div></li><li><div>
Apply strong technical acumen and analytical problem‑solving to diagnose packaging issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain uninterrupted production and consistent quality.</div></li><li><div>
Support commercialization of new packaging ideas by contributing technical insights that strengthen consumer value, enhance sustainability, and align with business goals.</div></li></ul><div></div><div>
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU&rsquo;LL BRING</div><ul><li><div>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in packaging or other relevant engineering disciplines (e.g. Mechanical, Materials, etc.) and 3+ years packaging engineering or product development within a manufacturing setting</div></li><li><div>
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship for full-time employment</div></li></ul><div></div><div>
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS</div><ul><li><div>
Working knowledge of Design of Experiments</div></li><li><div>
Knowledge of the product development process and experience related to various delivery system technologies (e.g., aerosol formulation, emulsion chemistry, gel formulation, polymer chemistry, reaction products, surfactants, solvents, builders)</div></li><li><div>
Experience and technical competency in primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging design and qualification (e.g. product/environment compatibility, distribution and environmental testing, manufacturing qualification)</div></li><li><div>
Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written presentation; including effective story-telling to the non-technical individual</div></li><li><div>
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, including anticipation and communication of risk profile and mitigation plans; strategic thinking and action to effectively navigate complex and/or ambiguous situations</div></li><li><div>
Expertise in multiple packaging disciplines; dispensing systems, materials, closures, manufacturing line requirements, plastic molding techniques, and product/environment compatibility</div></li><li><div>
Knowledge of consumer testing techniques and execution of appropriate studies to evaluate product performance during use</div></li><li><div>
An understanding of the developing consumer market</div></li></ul><div></div><div>
