SUMMARY
Hours of work assigned during 2nd shift (typically 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.)
Hourly Rate: $19.00 per hour plus $1.50 shift differential for hours worked after 2 p.m.
Associates with the title of Power Equipment Operator must demonstrate proficiency and meet all productivity and quality requirements of the following duties and responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Operate battery-operated and/or gas-powered equipment, (other than motorized pallet jacks), for the purpose of transporting product to and from inventory storage locations within the facility. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, Forklifts, Stock pickers, Wave Work-Assist vehicles, Sit-Down and Stand-Up Counterbalanced trucks, Reach trucks, etc.</li><li>
Must follow all power equipment rules and regulations, including any regulatory agency policies, to include OSHA.</li><li>
Must use all personal protective safety equipment, including lanyards and harnesses to be worn at all times when operation order/stock pickers.</li><li>
Must follow all facility safety rules and regulations at all times.</li><li>
Demonstrate the ability to perform all scanner functions necessary for the position, including cycle-counts, replenishment, item inquiry, inventory put away, etc.</li><li>
Ensure all product is stacked neatly and safely when moved via power equipment and when stored in rack or staging locations</li><li>
Maintain accuracy of all inventory movement at all times.</li><li>
Inspect and perform or assist in equipment maintenance as required; report any unsafe conditions to management.</li><li>
Responsible for the careful handling of all merchandise, avoiding damage, bending or tearing.</li><li>
Participate in Physical Inventory and Customer Appreciation Warehouse Sale events.</li><li>
Consistently meet minimum required production, accuracy or quality standards for the work performed.</li><li>
When necessary, assist in the processing of returned book fairs, by unpacking metal cases, boxes, and displays with book and non-book product, according to corporate process and procedure and meeting productivity and quality standards.</li><li>
When necessary, assist in the picking and packing of customer reorders</li><li>
Ensure that your work area is neat, clean, safe, and organized at all times.</li><li>
Individually, and in partnership with other co-workers, perform seasonal inventory production-line resets.</li><li>
When applicable, assist in the loading and unloading of trucks. The loading and unloading of trucks may or may not require the assistance of mechanical devices.</li><li>
Ensure that all warehouse equipment and tools are properly utilized to increase productivity, efficiency, and safety; report any unsafe conditions, damaged equipment or injury (to self or co-worker) to your supervisor or manager immediately.</li><li>
Utilize proper techniques for lifting, packing, and handling heavy objects.</li><li>
Accurately and timely complete Labor Data Collection Cards to according to company standards.</li><li>
Maintain attendance and punctuality as required by assigned work schedule and within company standards.</li><li>
Maintain a courteous and positive relationship with all co-workers and customers.</li><li>
Drug and alcohol-free policy compliance.</li><li>

 THE OPPORTUNITY
 
 
 The Senior Editor of SuperSTEM will be an integral part of the magazine&rsquo;s editorial team. They will support the editorial director for all matters pertaining to SuperSTEM with the ability to step in on high-level tasks as needed. They will write feature articles, edit freelanced articles, oversee multiple recurring departments with minimal oversight, ideate and edit teacher resources that will accompany the student edition, craft digital materials such as video scripts and e-newsletters, and assist others on the team as needed.
 
 
 The Senior Editor of SuperSTEM will be a highly organized individual who has a keen attention to detail. This is a highly collaborative work environment; the right candidate will be eager to join in discussions and brainstorming sessions in group settings with coworkers both in-person and via Microsoft Teams. They will also work closely with the editors of Scholastic&rsquo;s other STEAM magazines to ensure that our STEAM titles have a shared strategy and cohesive messaging.

 Responsibilities

 Be a self-directed, high-level contributer to the editorial process from ideation to publication for student- and teacher-facing materials, both print and digital, for SuperSTEM.

 Work with the Education Editor to align content with NGSS and state science standards and with the whole team to conceive of multidisciplinary STEM packages&mdash;lesson plans, activity sheets, hands-on experiments, slideshows&mdash;that fulfill our product promises.

 Write video scripts as assigned, record videos of experiments, produce slideshows, assist in digital STEM games ideation, and collaborate with the Education Editor and the Editorial Director to schedule, draft, and release e-newsletters for SuperSTEM.

 <li>
 Write one or more feature articles per issue and have full ownership: conduct interviews, write and revise copy, input fact check changes, input copy edits, work with art director to finesse layouts for editor&rsquo;s approval, give article its final read. Ideate and edit teacher resources that will accompany article.

 Manage assigning and editing of student edition articles in collaboration with the Editorial Director. This entails assigning, requesting photos, editing copy, inputting copy edits, doing final reads, and submitting invoices for approval.

 Mentor and provide guidance to SuperSTEM&rsquo;s associate editor and contributing writers in article framing, tone, and voice for stylistic consistency and to ensure maximum engagement, comprehension, and accessiblity for students.
