The purpose of the Adult Education program is to: 1) provide specialized instruction to Adult English learners to improve their reading, writing, speaking, listening, and comprehension skills in English, mathematics skills and an understanding of the American system of Government, individual freedom, and the responsibilities of citizenship and/or; 2) provide students with the knowledge and skills in Mathematics, Language Arts, Reading, Science and Social Studies necessary to pass the Official GED&reg; Tests and be awarded a State of Florida High School Diploma. In addition, this program prepares students for postsecondary education and the attainment of a postsecondary degree, certificate, or industry certification and employment.</p><p></p><p><br>

<ul><li>Communicate, through the proper channels, to keep the immediate supervisor, Department Head, Assistant Director, MTC Director, ACT Dept. Director, and Superintendent informed of impending problems or events of unusual nature.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Attend MTC-related activities and events including, but not limited to, graduation ceremonies, career- technical student organization, and other instructional activities.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Develop positive MTC/community relations and serve as a representative of MTC in the community, and at trade and professional organization activities.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Attend and participate in staff and department meetings to discuss policy changes, instructional programs, potential problems, and resolution of existing problems.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Stay current in the subject matter through professional development, involvement in professional organizations and by attending professional meetings, conferences, or workshops.</li></ul>
