Job Summary</b></h1><p>
Oversees, directs, and reviews the work of Assistant Inspector Generals, Investigators, Evaluators, Analyst, and other support staff. Serves and supports the duties and responsibilities of the Inspector General and directs the operations of the Office of the Inspector General. Represents the Office of Inspector General in all legal matters and represents the Inspector General during his/her absence.</p><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Essential Functions</b></h1><ul><li> Assists the Inspector General in directing the operations of the Office of Inspector General including employment matters, budget planning, and implementation of operational improvements.</li><li> Assumes the duties of the Inspector General in the absence of the Inspector General.</li><li> Provides legal counsel and representation of the Office of Inspector General on matters concerning confidentiality, right-to-know law, or other matters as directed by, and subject to the supervision of the Inspector General.</li><li> Represents the Office of Inspector General at meetings with external local, state and federal agencies, including prosecutors&rsquo; offices.</li><li> Assists in preparing Office of Inspector General employees to testify at disciplinary hearings, arbitrations, and court proceedings.</li><li> Coordinates and directs the investigation, inspection, or review of matters reported to the OIG.</li><li> Coordinates legal and other matters of mutual concern with the Office of General Counsel on behalf of the Office of Inspector General.</li><li> Reviews vendor contracts and invoices for services and submits for the Inspector General's approval.</li><li> Reviews contracts and invoices for professional services and submits for approval of the Inspector General.</li><li> Prepares written legal opinions and conducts independent research concerning legal relationships, duties, obligations and rights, and the policies, programs, and projects of the Office of Inspector General relating to the responsibilities of the Inspector General acting in his/her official capacity in directing and administering activities of the Office of Inspector General.</li><li> Coordinates and directs the staff of the Office of Inspector General engaged in performing a variety of investigations, inspections, reviews, and other engagements.</li><li> Prepares required reports and special reports as requested.</li><li> Supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned staff.</li><li> Provides guidance and training to District staff on ethics, compliance, and fraud prevention. &#61623; Performs other duties as assigned by the Inspector General.</li></ul><div><br>

Qualifications</b><div>
</div><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Minimum Requirements</b></h1><ul><li> Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school or university.</li><li> Ten years of full time, paid, professional experience practicing law or related experience which has involved supervisory, administrative, or coordinative responsibility.</li><li> Member in good standing of the Pennsylvania Bar.</li><li> Certificate of admission in good standing to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Preferred Qualifications</b></div><ul><li> Previous experience representing the Office of Inspector General and certification as a Certified Inspector General Counsel (CIGC).</li><li> Previous experience with a school district for a large, urban, metropolitan area.</li><li> Previous experience with a large Inspector General's Office with a demonstrated record of success in the performance of duties unique to the OIG.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>

<p>
A teacher in the School District of Philadelphia plans and teaches their subject area, following the scope and sequence for all courses; provides instruction to students in a variety of planned courses; provides the use of real life applications and simulations to instruct students in the analysis and interpretation of material being presented; instructs the use of tools, materials, processes, and applications of technology, including pertinent software applications, in the development of lessons, and uses formal and informal classroom and district assessments.</p>

<li>Presentation of an original, signed letter from the Certification Officer of an accredited college or university verifying current enrollment in an approved certification program in order to be eligible for an Emergency Permit.</li>
