We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master to facilitate and coordinate the Agile Scrum process within our organization, ensuring collaborative and efficient delivery of high-quality solutions. This role focuses on distributed systems, microservices, and real-time data pipelines, working closely with scientific and technical users in a mission-focused environment.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, project management, and problem solving skills to work closely with the Product Development team ensuring Sprint commitments are delivered on schedule and to the desired level of quality. Additionally, you will serve as a coach and mentor to our team &ndash; helping foster a culture of Continuous Improvement and ensuring the team is consistently meeting its objectives. 
Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Using Agile Methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions</li><li>
Training, mentoring, and supporting scrum teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices</li><li>
Working with other Scrum Masters to plan and execute cross-team dependencie</li><li>
Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items</li><li>
Scheduling and facilitating scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes</li><li>
Monitoring progress and performance and helping teams improve</li><li>
Planning and organizing demos and product/system testing</li><li>
Ensuring the proper use of collaborative processes and removing impediments for the scrum team</li><li>
Tracking project processes, deliverables, and roadblocks</li><li>
Preparing and presenting status reports to stakeholders</li></ul> 

Requirements 
The following minimum qualifications are required for the position:<ul><li>
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field</li><li>
Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master or Advanced Scrum Master</li><li>
5+ years of experience as a scrum master or in a similar role</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across technical disciplines</li><li>
Experience facilitating scrum events such as stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives</li><li>
Support Product Owners to align and prioritize the product backlog</li><li>
Facilitate clear and transparent communication across all stakeholders and engineering team</li><li>
Ensure team readiness for presentations to include Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Program Management Reviews (PMRs), and Working Groups (WGs)</li><li>
Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including design patterns, modularity, and maintainability</li><li>
Strong proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming, including modern language features and best practices</li><li>
Hands-on experience with microservice architectures and distributed systems</li><li>
Understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker, Podman) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)</li><li>
Experience writing and maintaining automated tests</li><li>
Strong communication and presentation skills.</li><li>
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance</li></ul>
Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred:<ul><li>
Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics</li><li>
Experience with Agile techniques to include: User Stories, Definition of Done, Definition of Ready, Acceptance Criteria, Team Agreements, as well as Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing.</li><li>
Working alongside users to verify requirements and software acceptance</li><li>
Experience with implementing Zero-Trust utilizing OAuth2, SAML, Keycloak, OPA, or similar</li><li>
Familiarity with messaging and communication technologies, such as: Protocol Buffers, ZeroMQ, Kafka, gRPC, and REST</li><li>
Professional experience with DevOps and CI/CD tooling, including: Docker, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD</li><li>

The pay range for this position is $135,000-$152,000. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
