About the Role:</div></div>
The Accounting AP/AR Manager will oversee and manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions within a professional services environment, with a specialized focus on construction accounting. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial transactions, timely processing of invoices, and effective cash flow management to support the company's operational and strategic goals. The manager will lead and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of integrity, accuracy, and compliance with accounting ethics and industry standards. They will collaborate closely with project managers, vendors, and clients to resolve discrepancies and optimize financial processes. Ultimately, this position ensures the financial health and accountability of the organization by maintaining robust accounting controls and delivering insightful financial reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li><li>
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, preferably within the construction or professional services industry.</li><li>
Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and job costing.</li><li>
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems relevant to the industry.</li><li>
Demonstrated leadership experience managing an accounting team.</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.</li><li>
Experience with advanced construction accounting software such as Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate or Viewpoint.</li><li>
Familiarity with regulatory compliance and tax requirements specific to the construction industry.</li><li>
Experience implementing process improvements and automation within AP/AR functions.</li><li>
Strong analytical skills with experience in financial reporting and data analysis.</li></ul>
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Manage and supervise the daily operations of accounts payable and accounts receivable teams, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing invoices and payments.</li><li>
Oversee construction-specific accounting tasks such as job cost tracking, billing, and revenue recognition in compliance with industry standards.</li><li>
Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain accounting ethics and internal controls within the AP/AR functions.</li><li>
Coordinate with project managers and external vendors to resolve billing disputes and ensure proper documentation and approvals.</li><li>
Prepare and analyze financial reports related to accounts payable and receivable, providing insights to senior management for decision-making.</li><li>
Lead, mentor, and train accounting staff to enhance their skills and ensure adherence to best practices and software utilization.</li><li>
Collaborate with the finance department to support month-end and year-end closing activities and audits.</li></ul>
