</b></p><p></p><div><div><p><b>Duties/Responsibilities
</b></p></div><div><ul><li><p>Participates in assigned responsibilities by the supervising therapist to provide services as specified in the therapy plan of care within the scope of on-the-job training with supervision by a PT , PTA, OT, or OTA who is on the premises and readily available to respond in person
</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Communicates with supervis ing PT and/or OT , the response of patients/families and motivates the patient / family to follow treatment regimens at home.
</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Obtains data related to the interventions provided.
</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Ensures patient/family safety and comfort.
</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Demonstrates effective skills for verbal and written communication with physicians, patients of all ages and their families, hospital staff members, and other community - at - large professionals.
</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Responsible for daily cleaning tasks and infection control processes, such as disinfecting equipment and work areas that come in direct contact with the patient and neatly organizing and preparing the facility for the next operational business day.
</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Assists in inventory management , as well as requesting and restocking supplies.<br>
</p></li></ul></div><p></p><div><p>A Therapy Technician I may not:
</p></div></div><div><div><ul><li><p>Perform any evaluative or assessment activities;
</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Initiate physical or occupational therapy treatment, to include exercise instruction; or
</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Write or sign physical or occupational therapy documents in the permanent record, except to enter quantitative data for tasks delegated by the supervising PT or OT.<br>
</p></li></ul></div><p></p><div><p><b>Required Skills/Abilities
</b></p></div><div><ul><li><p>High School education or equivalent
</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Certification in BLS.
</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Preferred candidates have an associate's or bachelor's degree in exercise studies/science or kinesiology. The ideal candidate is taking a gap year between undergrad and graduate studies for allied health professions (PT, OT, PTA).</p></li></ul></div></div></div>
