What you'll do</h4>

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck &amp; rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
<ul>
<li>We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented BIW Measurement Room Manager to lead our dimensional inspection and quality verification operations. This role will oversee the measurement room dedicated to Body-in-White (BIW) validation using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), optical 3D scanning systems, Meisterbock and cubing tools. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in automotive body geometry, GD&amp;T, metrology software, and quality system compliance.</li>
</ul>
Location &amp; Travel Expectations:
<ul>
<li>This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina</li>
<li>This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.</li>
<li>Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.</li>
<li>Ability to travel 5%-20% of the time (potential international travel, passport required).</li>

Measurement and Dimensional Analysis:
<ul>
<li>Analyze full vehicle and BIW measurement data to evaluate body fit, gap and flush, and dimensional stability.</li>
<li>Lead root cause investigations for body dimensional variation using GD&amp;T principles, CAD comparison, and plant measurement data.</li>
<li>Work with metrology teams to optimize datum strategy, measurement points, and body location systems.</li>
</ul>
Fit &amp; Finish / Dimensional Analysis:
<ul>
<li>Ensure proper integration of closures, glass, trim, and exterior systems to BIW structure to achieve world-class craftsmanship.</li>
<li>Analyze and drive resolution of gap &amp; flush concerns across build phases (VFF, PVS, Job 1).</li>
<li>Develop and track dimensional quality KPIs, driving continuous improvement across pre-production builds.</li>
</ul>
Manufacturing &amp; Plant Support:
<ul>
<li>Partner with supplier quality, body shop, and final assembly teams to ensure dimensional integrity is achieved through tooling, fixtures, and process control.</li>
<li>Support body shop launch readiness through analysis during VFF through SOP, BIW build quality, and joining execution.</li>
<li>Use digital tools (e.g., Q-DAS, CM4D, PolyWorks, 3DCS, Pi Web) to track and analyze measurement and quality data.</li>
</ul>
Issue Identification and Resolution
<ul>
<li>Identify deviations, defects, or process variation in the production process or final vehicle assembly.</li>
<li>Work with relevant departments to implement corrective and preventive actions.</li>
<li>Monitor and verify the effectiveness of implemented solutions.</li>
<li>Lead the timing plan of open issue closures.</li>
</ul>
Continuous Improvement
<ul>
<li>Analyze process data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.</li>
<li>Develop strategies to proactively address potential quality issues.</li>
<li>Develop lessons learned and root cause analysis catalogues.</li>
</ul>
Reporting and Communication
<ul>
<li>Lead cross-functional meetings on issue resolution.</li>
<li>Prepare detailed summarizing findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.</li>
<li>Communicate quality action plans to senior leadership and stakeholders.</li>
<li>Ensure transparency and accountability throughout the problem-solving process.</li>
</ul>
Here's what else you'll bring:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mathematics or related field.</li>
<li>5+ years of experience in BIW dimensional analysis, body joining, or vehicle launch engineering.</li>
<li>Expertise in GD&amp;T, tolerance stack-ups, and root cause analysis of dimensional variation.</li>
<li>Familiarity with weld and adhesive joint designs and body assembly processes.</li>
<li>Experience with metrology systems (CMM, laser scan, optical measurement systems) and data interpretation tools (Pi Web).</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of automotive industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001).</li>
<li>Excellent understanding of complete vehicle production processes.</li>
<li>Proven ability to manage and lead teams effectively.</li>
<li>Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.</li>
<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.</li>
<li>Proficiency in quality tools and software (e.g., FMEA, Six Sigma, Minitab).</li>
</ul>

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent. 


Initial Base Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00
