In the 30-bed Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU (NST ICU), our highly engaged Registered Nurses are part of a Model Care Team, focused on excellent standardized practices and evidence-based patient-centered care.</b></p><p><b>
NST ICU specializes in caring for acute patients with a variety of disease states. As a destination center for higher level of Neuro-Surgical Trauma care in Southern California, NST ICU implements progressive programs and therapies. Responsibilities include:</b></p><ul><li> <b>Providing direct patient care within the scope of your practice.</b></li><li> <b>Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes.</b></li><li> <b>With quality patient and family-centered care in mind, the RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under their supervision.</b></li><li> <b>Work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.</b></li></ul><p><b>

Responsibilities include processing diet orders, assisting patients with menu selections, and distinguishing between food and medication allergies, maintaining current diet orders and menus to ensure compliance to the physician diet order. Diet Clerks must be able to function effectively in a high-volume call center environment. Serving as the liaison between Nursing and Food and Nutrition Services departments handling patient complaints, food issues and basic questions about meals/diets.</div></div><div><p><b>

</p><p>General Surgery &amp; Medical Acute is a 36 Bed General Surgery and Medical Cardiac unit (5P) located in Prebys Cardiovascular Institute on the Scripps Memorial La Jolla campus. The patient populations include bariatric, gynecological, colorectal, and medical cardiac patients.</p><p>
The Supervisor, Patient Care RN ensures nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety. Under the general direction of the Patient Care Manager, shares leadership responsibilities for the nursing unit, including managing daily staffing plans. Ensures appropriate and timely use of bed placement technology and adherence to care processes for bed placement/patient transfer/patient transport/room cleaning and patient discharge. Ensures the safe transition of patients through the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care.</p></div><div><p><b>
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:</b>
