GENERAL PURPOSE
The Int'l. EH&amp;S SR Manager will lead and align environmental, health, and safety initiatives across affiliated flour/feed milling and trading operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, while building a culture of safety excellence in diverse and often remote locations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li>Global EH&amp;S Strategy: Develop and implement a unified EH&amp;S framework across a mix of consolidated and non-consolidated international operations, tailored to local regulations and cultural contexts.
</li></ul><ul><li>Combustible Dust &amp; Process Safety: Oversee housekeeping standards to enable explosion prevention systems and ensure compliance with NFPA 61, ATEX, and local standards in flour and feed milling environments.
</li></ul><ul><li>Food Safety Integration: Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams to align EH&amp;S programs with food safety standards and audits. Ensure understanding and adherence to environmental regulations across all facilities.
</li></ul><ul><li>Incident Management: Lead investigations and corrective actions for relevant safety incidents, including equipment failures, contamination/adulteration risks, and occupational injuries. Work across operations domains (Capital Excellence, FS/QA, Strategic Sourcing, etc.) to ensure practices and standards are understood and adopted
</li></ul><ul><li>Training &amp; Capacity Building: Work with OD (Organizational Development Resources) to support the design and delivery of EH&amp;S training programs for multilingual teams, emphasizing lockout/tagout, confined space entry, PPE use and other safety topics.
</li></ul><ul><li>Environmental Stewardship: Provide insights regarding air emissions, wastewater, and stormwater compliance, especially in grain handling and milling operations.
</li></ul><ul><li>Audit &amp; Continuous Improvement: Administer or facilitate operations safety audits, risk surveys, and provide feedback to site EH&amp;S leadership to prioritize the most significant risks. Engage in providing feedback for performance reviews to drive EH&amp;S excellence and standardization.
</li></ul><ul><li>Cross-Cultural Leadership: Lead and champion an SOTG Safety Steering team and Mentor EH&amp;S professionals across developing countries, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing across regions.
</li></ul><div></div><div>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
</div><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline, Environmental Science, or Milling/Feed Sciences
</li></ul><ul><li>8+ years of EH&amp;S leadership in manufacturing environment
</li></ul>OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
<ul><li>Experience working in developing countries and remote locations
</li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of U.S. and international EH&amp;S regulations
</li></ul><ul><li>Fluency in English required; French and Spanish preferred
</li></ul><ul><li>Strong communication, organizational, facilitation, change management and mentoring skills
</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to travel internationally up to 30-50% (multiple trips/year of varying duration, often 10+ days)
</li></ul><ul><li>Physically fit to navigate challenging site conditions (e.g., climbing stairs, tight spaces)
</li></ul>WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is performed in a professional office environment and involves frequent contact with others as part of Seaboard's collaborative culture. The employee must be comfortable working outside traditional comfort zones and in physically remote locations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear and communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and with sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks. Regular use of standard office equipment, such as computers and phones, is required. This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended sitting and standing. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The position requires specific vision abilities, including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
