</p><p></p><p>Sealed Air&rsquo;s equipment manufacturing facility, located in Ayer, Massachusetts, is seeking a Welder with exceptional work ethics to fill our current 1st shift opening (7:30 am &ndash; 4:00 pm). The employee must have knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. The qualified candidates must be able work from written and verbal instructions under minimal supervision. Our ideal team members must possess a solid work history with the willingness to learn our manufacturing processes.<br>
</p><p></p><p>Specific Responsibilities Include:
</p><ul><li>Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints
</li><li>Welding metal parts together using M.I.G. or T.I.G. systems on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
</li><li>Preheat workpieces preparatory to welding or bending, using torch
</li><li>Examines workpiece for defects and measurements with straightedge or template to ensure conformance with specifications
</li><li>Dismantles metal assemblies or cuts scrap metal, using thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment as needed
</li><li>Selects, positions, and secures torch, cutting tips or welding rod, according to type, thickness, area, and desired temperature of metal
</li><li>Fuses parts together, seals tension points, and adds metal to build up parts
</li><li>Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
</li><li>Accomplish organization goals by exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
</li><li>Assures a safe work environment through understanding and following safe work practices

</b></h2></div><div><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED
</li><li>Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance

</li><li>Minimum 2 years M.I.G. and T.I.G. welding experience
</li></ul>&bull; Minimum 2 years&rsquo; experience in metal fabrication &bull; Ability to use all measuring devices.

</li><li>Directs the work of the production shift team &ndash; scheduling work assignments, materials, etc.
</li><li>Accountable for all work activities in the production room and warehouse being conducted in a safe and effective manner
</li><li>Meet with previous shift leader daily to discuss production, materials, machine problems, scheduled change over, people need, etc.
</li><li>Work closely together with Maintenance and Technical resources to ensure that issues are being addressed to optimize performance
</li><li>Work closely with Scheduling to ensure that equipment, materials and manpower are available as required to meet business needs
</li><li>Defines measures and goals for area performance and audits performance to maintain unit at its best demonstrated capability
</li><li>Ensure that quality standards are upheld and that any suspect or defective product is reported to the Quality Facilitator to be appropriately destroyed or placed on hold for review and decision
</li><li>Accountable for all activities in the production room being conducted in a safe and effective manner
</li><li>Meet cost targets through careful attention to the operating supplies, staffing, and overtime levels
</li><li>Ensures appropriate production input and involvement in all capital projects for the unit
</li><li>Serves as a leader, mentor and coach for all production resources, treating people fairly and with respect

Operators are responsible for the safe operation of plastic envelope manufacturing equipment to produce quality product by continual adjustments of gauges and digital control systems that adjust speed, temperature, and air pressure while also focusing on safety and efficiency. This position assists the department in the safe operation of plastic packaging to produce quality products.</p><div><b>
Responsibilities:
</b></div><ul><li>Responsible for working on the production line - includes inserting materials, folding, inspection, and assembly.</li><li>
Knows and adheres to all safety rules and procedures.</li><li>
Complete all required inspections and testing on products.</li><li>
Visual inspection of chemical pouches for quality issues.</li><li>
Manage production flow and interruption of lines when quality issues arise.</li><li>

Comply with Company standards with regard to housekeeping and 6S on machines and surrounding areas.</li><li>
