Leave of Absence Coordinator
PRIMARY PURPOSE : Analyzes reported leave requests including Family Medical Leave (FMLA), unpaid state, military and company-specific, to make determinations based on client plans, state and federal regulations. Ensures that on-going claim management is within company service standards and industry best practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li>Establishes FMLA and other unpaid state, military, and/or company-specific leave claims; tracks and codes documentation in accordance with internal workflow processes.
</li><li>Analyzes FMLA and other unpaid claims to determine eligibility and certification in compliance with client plans, state and federal regulations.
</li><li>Reviews claim information received to identify action plan, determine benefits due, and make timely case decisions based on plan descriptions and service expectations as established by the client.
</li><li>Communicates decisions and on-going expectations clearly and professionally with claimants and clients by phone, written correspondence and/or claims system.
</li><li>Maintains professional client relationships and provides excellent customer service.
</li><li>Meets the organization&rsquo;s quality program(s) minimum requirements.

</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS
Education &amp; Licensing
 
High school diploma or GED required. State certification or licensing in statutory leaves is beneficial.
Experience
 
One (1) year of administrative/general office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. FMLA administration experience preferred.

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is (16.00 - 21.00). ADA Accommodation Specialist
<div>PRIMARY PURPOSE : To enhance the ADA process for claimants requesting accommodations under the ADAAA; to review complex medical information for temporary and permanent accommodation requests; and to approve and/or negotiate restrictions as required under the ADAAA, state and/or client requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li>Reviews medical information for ADAAA temporary and permanent accommodation requests.
</li><li>Approves and/or negotiates accommodations as written; renegotiates reasonable alternative accommodations, or denies restrictions based on lack of supporting documentation through correspondence with physician, colleague, department and other key stakeholders.
</li><li>Maintains regular contact with colleagues, supervisors, health care providers, and other key stakeholders regarding progress and status of accommodations; assists in the resolution of any challenges related to the accommodations.
</li><li>Conducts interactive discussions with claimants and employers, assists in answering/resolving any follow-up questions/issues and helps identify clarifications, when needed, from health care providers.
</li><li>Acts as a subject matter expert and resource to supervisors, colleagues, union, or physicians regarding accommodation/work restriction issues and processes. Provides advice and counsel as appropriate and acts as a liaison between all parties when necessary.
</li><li>Ascertains the specific physical tolerances and vocational skills needed for particular employment positions; makes decisions or assists case management staff in making decisions regarding a client's competence in performing a particular position.
</li><li>Adheres to all medical and legal regulations and accreditation standards.
</li><li>Reviews the essential job functions provided by the employer along with restrictions/limitations provided by the claimant and their treating provider to confirm the claimant can meet the essential functions with or without the accommodation(s) requested.
</li><li>Contacts employers to obtain specific information regarding an area of employment, i.e., training or education needed, physical demands, wages and benefits, and availability.
</li><li>Thoroughly reviews contested claims.
</li><li>Assists as needed with submission of accommodation recommendations to employers for consideration.
</li><li>Works closely with other members of team to: a) ensure smooth transition from medical case management into job placement; and/or b) discuss the progress on each case suggesting changes in rehabilitation plans.
</li><li>Documents contacts in claim notes; prepares reports and/or forms documenting the results of research/negotiations performed; and tracks disposition decisions.

</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS
Education &amp; Licensing
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work or vocational rehabilitation is preferred. At least one of the following licenses or certifications is required: RN, LVN, CRC, COHN, CVE, LPC, OTR/L, or LCSW.
Experience
 
Four (4) years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required. Medical disability or vocational rehabilitation experience preferred.
