We are seeking an Associate Attorney with 1-2 years of experience practicing business and/or real estate law to join our growing law firm in Penfield, NY. The ideal candidate should be able to work at a fast pace while paying attention to detail and being organized. The candidate must possess a law degree and be able to bring a high level of professionalism and work ethic with them. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is hungry to grow with the firm.Responsibilities and Duties:<ul><li>Communicate with clients and provide advice as it relates to business transactions, legal rights and obligations, and compliance with government agencies.</li><li>Draft legal documents and letters in support of client needs and file documents if needed with the appropriate government oversight agency.</li><li>Represent clients before government agencies such as Sales Tax, Department of Labor, State Liquor Authority, and Attorney General.</li><li>Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.</li><li>Maintain compliance with continuing education CLEs and industry standards and practices.</li><li>Oversee liquor license applications as well as business purchases and sales.</li><li>Negotiate settlements of civil and business disputes.</li><li>Communicate with clients, other attorneys, and government employees/officials via writing, e-mail, telephone, and facsimile.</li><li>Research and analyze data, interpret the meaning of information, and communicate the next steps to clients and/or managing attorneys.</li><li>Complete projects on time and accurately record time activities.</li><li>Assist in maintaining relationships with existing clients, and developing new clients through the firm.</li><li>Make presentations and represent the firm in networking groups, events, or opportunities.</li><li>Assist in the supervisory role of legal support staff. Establish and maintain strong interpersonal relationships to develop a constructive and cooperative work environment.</li><li>Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation within the Law Firm.</li><li>Estimate time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity. Monitor and assist in controlling resources and the spending of money.</li></ul>Qualifications and Skills:<ul><li>Law degree from an accredited law school.</li><li>1-2 years of experience practicing business and/or real estate law.</li><li>Ability to work at a fast pace while paying attention to detail and being organized.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to negotiate effectively.</li><li>Ability to research and analyze data.</li><li>Proficiency in legal software and technology.</li><li>Excellent organizational and time-management skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.</li></ul>If you are a highly motivated Associate Attorney with the necessary qualifications and skills, we encourage you to apply for this position.
