Overview:
<div>
Underwrites and markets new small business accounts within moderate level of authority for assigned agencies and assist Agency Management Specialists with their efforts to fully capitalize on small account production opportunities. Partner effectively with field underwriting staff to seek out and develop these opportunities.&#65533;Provide responsive support and guidance to agents. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.</div>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Responsible for new small business production in assigned territory. Gather, analyze and evaluate risk exposure through appropriate risk documentation. Adopt proactive actions and/or make proactive recommendations to improve risk profitability.</li><li>
Work within specific letter of authority to quote, accept, decline and modify risks within territorial assignment in accordance with accepted underwriting guidelines. Refer all outside of authority to Small Business Territory Manager or Agency Management Specialist.</li><li>
Apply knowledge and understanding of coverage forms, rating plans and underwriting guidelines in the selection and pricing of individual risks. Ensure adequate pricing of individual risks through proper classification, accuracy of information and adherence to company underwriting standards and philosophy.</li><li>
Answer incoming calls from agents on coverage, billing questions, and making adjustments to policy information based upon prescribed authority for new small business submissions on Commercial Property and Casualty lines of business. Effectively communicate underwriting decisions and appetite to agents.</li><li>
Work in unison with Agents, Regional Underwriters and AMS's and other departments within the Selective community to grow a profitable book of &quot;small business&quot; based on agency/territory/team assignments. Actively markets small business product to agents and travels within assigned territory, as necessary.</li><li>
Reinforce the ease of doing business with Selective by meeting or exceeding agent expectations and service quality on a consistent basis. Communicate openly and in a timely fashion. Drive agent adoption of our technology through our training efforts in CLAS.</li><li>
Monitor premium growth for each &quot;small business&quot; segment, within assigned territory, with the use of electronic reporting tools. Continually conduct profit and growth analysis by territory and agency as assigned.</li><li>
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with manager, peers and agents. Communicate openly and in a timely fashion to team members on individual progress and shares information. Assist with training of newer Small business underwriters as necessary.</li><li>
Keeps abreast of industry information, new ideas, products, changes in competitor practice, and customer preferences. Advances our CxP efforts.</li><li>
Responsible for automobile travel within territory traveling to agent offices. Car travel represents approximately 10-20% of employee&rsquo;s time.</li></ul>
Qualifications:

Knowledge and Requirements</b></div><ul><li>
Demonstrate proficiency in usage of all supplied desktop tools, including the automated underwriting and email systems.</li><li>
Ability and desire to develop and execute pro-active marketing strategies.</li><li>
Ability to effectively communicate with agents while applying the appropriate sense of urgency.</li><li>
Must be able to build effective relationships with agents, regional underwriting, management and peers.</li><li>
Position requires ability to travel and a valid state-issued driver&rsquo;s license in good standing.</li></ul><div><b><br>

Overview:
<p>
Selective is seeking a Principal Network Infrastructure Engineer, to partner with Architects and Engineers in the IT network infrastructure, supporting our business platforms and continuously improving to meet the evolving needs of our business community. The Engineer will provide technical leadership to the team to help drive the strategic initiatives, and &ldquo;Cloud First&rdquo; direction of Selective Insurance. The network engineer is also required to document designs and creations and share their findings with others.</p>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Provide leadership in IT for the development of highly appropriate, tightly integrated, consistently available, secure, flexible, and fault-tolerant solutions</li><li>
Ability to Design and implement standardized methodologies to deploy and maintain routing and switching, LAN/WAN, wireless network, load balancers, cloud infrastructure networking components, network monitoring tools, WAN acceleration, SD WAN and other relevant technologies</li><li>
Ability to lead network implementation by taking ownership of a project and being accountable for its success, including providing executive summary status reports</li><li>
Ability to design enterprise network routing architectures using protocols such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP).
</li><li>Knowledge of SDN concepts and familiarity with Python, REST, model-driven programmability, containers and other modern aspects of network engineering</li><li>
Strong background in data center networking technologies like Cisco IOS, NXOS, Cisco VPC, Spine-Leaf designs, OTV and VXLAN layer2 extensions, etc.</li><li>
Work with architecture team to prepare recommendations and supporting details for formal project proposals for network connectivity and configurations</li><li>
Perform as SME escalation in support of IT operational organization during complex highly impactful outages that can cross multiple functional domains, involving chronic recurring problems, vendor product bugs and other critical network functionality</li><li>
Ensure all engineered solutions have sufficient design documentation available including HLD and LLD documents.</li></ul><ul><li>
Ensure all engineered solutions and features take operational needs into account and provide the Operations team with sufficient documentation, training and standard operating procedures that support daily operation, maintenance, upgrades and support escalations for the solution.</li><li>
Identify areas for enhanced efficiency through automation, suggested process improvements and streamlined workflow.</li><li>
Work with Information Security to ensure that security policies are properly engineered into the delivered solutions and features.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li>College degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.</li><li>
10 + years of relevant experience in a fast-paced, enterprise-level environment including leadership roles</li><li>
Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network layout and communication systems.</li><li>
Experienced in Azure Cloud networking</li><li>
Advanced level knowledge of many of the following technologies: Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches; Cisco routers; Cisco Meraki wireless LAN; Cisco ISE; F5 LTM, APM and iRules; Palo Alto firewalls, including Prisma Access; Cloud based technologies (Azure, AWS and GCP) is required, with a strong understanding of and experience with Azure; Palo Alto SD WAN; SolarWinds.</li><li>
Network certifications required from leading network vendors: Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE); F5; Microsoft Azure.</li><li>
Ability to work with vendors and research product offerings to determine appropriate solutions. Ability to review, evaluate and make recommendations on vendor SOW&rsquo;s, BOM&rsquo;s and proposals.</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate to all levels of IT, including producing status reports interface with stakeholders and report to IT leadership.</li><li>
Drive alignment of network engineering initiatives with business objectives and measurable KPIs.
</li><li>Mentor and coach less senior engineers to build team capability and foster professional growth.
</li><li>Champion Agile, DevOps, and modern delivery practices within network engineering projects.
</li><li>Engage proactively with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise needs.
