Job description:Serve Electric is currently seeking a full time Purchaser with strong organizational skills, sense of urgency, and the ability to prioritize tasks well.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Work with Branch Manager to establish job needs</li><li>Prepare, review and issue Purchase Orders</li><li>Purchase materials, tools, office supplies, etc.</li><li>Operate the backend of the office/ shop</li><li>Manage shop inventory - material &amp; tooling in and out</li><li>Create and build relationships with vendors</li><li>Negotiate prices and terms with vendors</li></ul>The ideal candidate should:<ul><li>Be accessible outside of work hours to facilitate orders if / when needed</li><li>Have excellent communication skills</li><li>Be adaptable to a changing environment</li><li>Have good computer skills - able to pick up new software and skills to pair with existing word processing &amp; spreadsheet abilities</li><li>Be self motivated with a sense of ownership, setting goals and tasks without being directed</li><li>Understand where to apply immediate need in a fast pace environment</li><li>Be well organized</li></ul>Must have:<ul><li>Drivers license</li></ul>Bonuses:<ul><li>Experience or knowledge in the electrical field</li><li>Basic understanding of the industry, parts, and material</li><li>Purchasing or supplier experience would be a plus</li><li>Previous experience with a supply house in Tampa</li></ul>Salary to be negotiated based on experience.Company OverviewBased in Michigan, Serve Electric is a multi-dimensional electrical contractor.
